Bible study

Currently: December 2020

Hello December! Here’s what’s currently going on in my life this month.

Sunrise in Pittsburgh

Current books Still working through this Bible study and this book on parenting with a child’s brain development in mind.

Current food I had leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving so I made a cranberry balsamic glaze for a roasted pork loin and it was great!

Current prayer A few members of our church are battling COVID-19 and I’m praying they will feel better asap ❤

Current obsession Still loving coffee dates with Sadie and Niva.

Husky and toddler sitting in car together

Current baked good Brown sugar cookies with pumpkin spice chips.

Current joy The holiday season. I love it.

Current drink Starbucks blonde Christmas blend. It’s the perfect blend of spicy notes and smoothness.

Current fun Pittsburgh got a good little bit of snow this week! Sadie called it “nos” (she can’t say “s” at the beginning of a word so she adds it at the end, lol) and was seriously so excited about it!  She wanted to be outside all day. Don’t get me started on how happy Niva was, too. She had a major case of the zoomies 🙂

Husky with sled and people

Current laugh I was thinking about how I want to get Niva a sweater since it’s getting cold out and then I remembered she’s a husky and definitely doesn’t need one, lol. Case in point: every night that we’ve had snow on the ground Niva goes outside and lays in the snow like she wants to sleep there.

Current mood Emotional. I’m pretty sure mine and Sadie’s nursing journey has come to an end. She pretty much self-weaned and I’m feeling all the feelings. I was thinking about doing a separate post on our whole journey but I might cry the whole time I type it up, ha.

Current beauty product This lip balm has been amazing as cold weather has been setting in here in Pittsburgh.

Current excitement Seeing Sadie experience Christmas this year. I can’t wait.

Current cuteness Malcolm and Sadie hanging out. Also, why is he in the chair and Sadie is on the ground?! 😂

Black cat sitting in kid's chair

Current need Another black cat. Jimmy, if you’re reading this, you now know what I want for Christmas 😉

Current indulgence I went to a ladies Bible study at our church the other night and popped into a store to browse around afterwards. Shopping by myself felt downright luxurious!

Current goal Finishing up our fence extension. We had it almost done the weekend we started it, then it kind of took a backseat but it was okay because Niva wasn’t escaping. Well, our little Houdini figured out that there are a few areas where we didn’t add the extension yet and she has been jumping the fence again. Hopefully we get this squared away this weekend!

Current blessing Help from family! My mom watched Sadie one day this week so I could get some real estate work done and it was so helpful. Sadie even came home with some artwork 🙂

Sadie calls my mom “ya ya” ❤

A look back…

What’s current in your life?

Another Day, Another…

Another day, another car picnic in the Starbucks parking lot with Sadie girl.

Toddler in back of car

This time she had vanilla milk and Nutri-grain bars. I had my usual blonde roast with cream 🙂

Another day, another quote from the Bible study book I’m working my way through on the topic of contentment.

Quote on contentment by Patsy Clairmont

The fact that we should accept and expect deserts in our spiritual journey as surely as we do joy really hit home for me. When we don’t expect life to be perfect all the time, we’re less likely to experience “whiplash” every time we’re going through a challenging situation.

Another day, another craft.

Thanksgiving turkey headband craft for toddler

We worked on a turkey headband during homeschool the day before Thanksgiving and talked about birds!

Funny side note: when I ask Sadie what noise an owl makes, she say “awooo, awooo” and it sounds like a wolf howl. That also reminds me that anytime she sees a picture of a wolf she says “Na Na” which is what she calls Niva, lol.

Another day, another visit to see Jimmy at work.

Toddler at work desk

We feel so, so blessed that we’re able to pop in and see him (and my father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and cousin) anytime. It definitely breaks up the day and Sadie likes to talk on the intercom.

Tell me about pictures you could (or do!) take a lot!
