Just like that, our Sadie girl turned eight!
It feels like just yesterday we brought her home as clueless new parents. I feel like I’ve grown right along with Sadie. She has been very patient with her mom learning how to be a mom. 😉
The past eight years with Sadie have been such a blessing. She is an absolute joy to have as my daughter and I thank God constantly for making her part of our family. She is kind, loving, and makes friends with everyone. She’s a wonderful big sister, so creative, and loves ice cream! She plays video games better than I could ever dream of and is always ready for an adventure!
We were very excited to celebrate Sader Tot on Friday. Mordecai couldn’t wait to give her a surprise ball and tru fru snack he picked out for her. He even drew a picture of them holding hands in her birthday card. 🥹
We had a pretty normal day—Dakota had speech therapy, Jimmy worked, and then our neighbor offered to hang out at our house while Dakota napped in the afternoon. I was able to take Sadie and Mordecai to the park and then we grabbed frozen yogurt!
In the evening, we sang happy birthday and had brownies!
We also had a campfire before bedtime. It was a really nice day celebrating Sadie girl as a family.
She didn’t want to have a birthday party this year and instead asked if she could have a day with her cousins Remi and Caroline. We brought the girls home between church services on Sunday for a day of celebrating!
Sadie asked to do three things for her special cousin day: order pizza for lunch, make squishies, and go shopping! Easy peasy. 😊
We stayed busy all afternoon and had such a great day. There was dancing, crafts, a $10 Walmart shopping budget, and so much laughter! 😊
We sang happy birthday to our ice cream lover with an “8” candle in a Klondike Bar!
That’s a wrap on Sadie’s eighth birthday! This age is so sweet. She is growing into such a wonderful girl, but she’s still our creative, fun-loving Sadie. I feel incredibly blessed that I get to be her mom, and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings for Sadie Mae. 🩵
