Aldi + Shop ‘n Save Grocery Haul | What $70 Bought Us

I’m back with another grocery post! I’m sharing everything I bought from Aldi and Shop ‘n Save after we returned home from vacation.

Fruits and vegetables from Aldi and Shop n Save

This shopping trip was mostly about stocking up on fresh foods like produce, proteins, and dairy. Here’s a look at everything I picked up and what we spent.

Aldi and Shop ‘n Save Grocery Haul

Pantry Items 🥯

Pantry items from Aldi

Bagels – $1.99
Mordecai’s favorite food lately!

Chicken noodle soup – $1.69 x3
An easy meal to have on hand in the pantry.

Jalapeños – $2.49
I love adding these to spicy chicken thighs.

Hamburger buns – $1.45
For burgers!

Yogurt bites – $1.95
Dakota ate most of this bag while sitting in the shopping cart. 😂

Sun-dried tomato wraps – $3.35
I’m going to use these for Jimmy’s lunches. They seemed like a fancy upgrade from plain tortillas!

Pantry Items Total: $15.30

Dairy 🥛

Dairy items from Aldi

Vanilla yogurt – $2.59
The kids have a bowl of this with an Oreo crushed on top for breakfast.

Eggs – $1.66 x2
I wonder how long these will last. We eat a lot of eggs around here (mostly me and Sadie!) and I use them to bake constantly!

Half and half – $2.39
This was the #1 thing that I was like “I need this ASAP” when we got home from vacation to an empty fridge. Coffee is sad without cream!

Dairy Items Total: $8.30

Fruit 🍇

Fruit from Aldi

Lemon – $0.99
For cooking salmon!

Green grapes – $2.64
Jimmy brings these in his lunch every day.

Strawberries – $2.29
These are pretty much the only fruit Sadie will eat! I dread the winter when these are like double the price, haha.

Granny Smith apples – $3.89
For apple pie. 🥧

Fruit Total: $9.81

Meat & Seafood 🐟

Chicken thighs and salmon

Salmon (0.87 lbs) – $10.33
Aldi was all out of salmon (that’s what I get for shopping on a Sunday afternoon 😂), so I had to spend a little more per pound at Shop ‘n Save. I will say, this tasted way better than Aldi’s salmon, so I’m kinda glad they didn’t have any in stock. 😜

Chicken thighs (3.28 lbs) – $9.81
Another grocery haul, another pack of chicken thighs for spicy chicken. 😇

Meat/Fish Total: $20.14

Vegetables 🍅

Produce from Aldi and Shop n Save

Eggplant – $1.73
For ratatouille and roasting in the oven!

Sweet potatoes – $2.99
Dakota and I chow these down! She often steals them right off of my dinner plate. 🤣

Roma tomatoes – $0.32
For ratatouille! I love how affordable Roma tomatoes are. 😍

Cucumber – $0.95
This was for salads!

Ginger – $1.99
I use this in Jimmy’s ginger shots. I just blend ginger and lemon together and he takes a 2 ounce shot of it every morning!

Grape tomatoes – $1.99
For salads and snacking. Mordecai loves tomatoes so much!

Shiitake mushrooms – $4.29
Once again, I was glad I had to go to Shop ‘n Save because they carry my favorite variety of mushrooms!

Zucchini – $2.45
For roasting and—I bet you guessed it—ratatouille!

Vegetables Total: $16.71

Grand Total $70.26

There you have it—a little post-vacation stock up! I was pretty happy with how much fresh food we were able to grab for about $70.
