I’ve got another camera catch up today! I feel like we’ve been up to so many random and things lately.
Here’s a look at what life has looked like lately according to my camera. π
Remember in my last post when I said we survived the Daylight Savings time change? Well, yes. We survived. That’s about it. π we’ve had some e-a-r-l-y wakeups and cranky kids this week! I am looking forward to when we’re all adjusted… only to do it all over again in March, ha!
Aside from waking up at the crack of dawn, we’ve been busy! Sadie had a dentist appointment and Mordecai joined us. He loves going to the dentist for some reason?!
My in-laws took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese recently and they had such a fun afternoon playing games and enjoying pizza!
We’ve had my niece over for the day the past two Wednesdays and it has been a blast! She joined us for Sadie’s feeding therapy appointment, we got McDonald’s, went to the park, and soaked in the hot tub.
Dakota has been having her speech therapy each week and she is talking so much more lately! She can reliably say “please” and “Yaya” (what my kids call my mom)!
I decided I wanted to do my nails for once. They’re definitely an adjustment to get used to, but they sure are cute! I am having the hardest time typing right now, though. π
I’ve been keeping busy in the kitchen the past few weeks. I had a big Etsy granola order for 14 bags of pumpkin spice and cranberry orange granola! I also got my Christmas Oreos and peppermint bark up in the shop. Woo hoo! I also made a batch of chocolate peanut butter brownies for our library’s bake sale.
We picked up the kids’ Christmas pajamas and they were thrilled. Nevermind the fact that I took the picture below when it was noon and 70 degrees outside. π€£
Mordecai figured out that he enjoys canned tuna. He saw a can in our pantry and asked to eat it and I was like “You wouldn’t like that!” and then I caught myself. I let him try it and he had two cans in two days. He is our adventurous eater!
Sadie asked me if she could paint something big in our house, so I let her paint our entryway bench. It made her crazy happy to be trusted with painting something like that. I hope she remembers that mom always loved her artwork and wanted it displayed proudly around the house as she grew up. π₯Ή
Poor Dakota had another bout of hives. We have no clue what caused it! She responds well to allergy medicine, though, so that’s a relief! She is a trooper.
I challenged my contamination OCD by letting the kids play at the mall’s playground. Nobody got sick… yet. π
And last but not least, I dropped our cat food container! It just slipped right out of my hand. π« Thankfully it was during Dakota’s nap time, so I was able to clean it without her trying to get into it.
Other Notes and Thoughts π
- Scripture I’m loving: Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, βAnyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.β Mark 9:35 ππ»
- Just finished reading In the Shadow of Eight and whoa was it intense. π
- I pulled out some of my winter clothes and put on a floral long sleeved shirt the other day and Mordecai instantly noticed and said he liked it. He’s too sweet! π₯Ή
- I bought Christmas sheets for our bed! This is way too exciting for me. ππ²
- When Mordecai refers to something in the future, he says “next later.” We went to Dollar Tree so he could get a gum ball from the candy machine and he said “We’ll come back next later and get another gum ball.” I want to remember all the kids’ little phrases forever. π
- It’s been too long since I made marbled chocolate pistachio bread. I need to make it again ASAP! π«
