Pittsburgh was graced with temperatures in the high 50s/low 60s and a touch of sun yesterday and I felt like a new woman! Add in my mom watching Sadie for the day and I really felt spoiled ๐
First I took my girls on a Starbucks date (and made sure to get my mom some caffeine too because a day with Sadie requires it ๐). Niva enjoyed her puppuccino, Sadie ordered a vanilla milk, and my mom and I both got regular ol’ coffee.
I spent some time on the phone with Sadie’s gastroenterologist and everything still is up in the air with any sort of diagnosis, but I’m feeling more positive and at peace. Maybe it was the sunshine, or the prayers from family and friends, or a long talk with my sister who is a nurse and my best friend. Or all of the above ๐
So yeah, no real updates yet, but we are just trucking along! We’ve been trying to get our finicky eater (ahem, Sadie Mae..) to try new foods lately. Sader Tot has never been what I would call a “good eater.” She snubbed bottles as an infant, spit food out until she was almost a year old, and now we have a toddler who has lost weight due to some sort of tummy trouble and (I suspect) sheer pickiness.
I’ve done a lot of second guessing of myself lately. Am I a bad parent? Should we have listened more to early intervention and went through with the occupational therapy for her oral motor skills? My mom gave me a pep talk and was like just move forward and don’t look back on what you could have or should have done.ย
So, I’m trying to keep things more structured with her eating. I had the habit of letting her graze all day (because I was happy she was just eatingย anything), and come mealtime she wasn’t interested in non-snack foods.
We’re doing our best! I think the biggest thing is to make it fun for her (and me, lol) without being overly stressed out or regimented, you know?
Niva and I enjoyed a walk in the warm weather yesterday and she met two pigs. We were just walking in our neighborhood and there’s a house that has pigs and the owner had them out walking around on the street. I wish I had taken a picture of Niva sniffing the pigs like what are these?!
Other sunshine-y things from life lately…
I ordered this book of Bible lessons for Sadie and it’s wonderful! The lessons are age-appropriate and the activities are simple to put together and hands-on for Sader Tot.
Sadie and I were playing with her Play-Doh and she asked me to make Elsa from Frozen ๐
Alright, that’s enough of my random rambling for today. I’m off to a ladies’ Bible study at church!
Iโm so glad I got to spend the day with Sadie, and give you some free time!! She is such a joy, and her personality is the sweetest (just like her mama). I was asking her different things, (like do you miss daddy
And Niva) and she said no, just mommy. I basically had to keep the tears back. She loves you so much, and obviously knows how much you love and care for her!!
It was such a blessing! Thank you! How sweet that she missed me!! โค I love you!
It was a blast having Sadie running around the house Wednesday!
Sadie seems to be doing better and we have to remember โthis too shall passโ!
I love ๐ you!

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I love you!
You are not a bad parent, Allie! You made the best decisions you could with the information you had at the time. Your mom is so right about looking forward from here. I’m so glad you are feeling more at peace right now even though things are still up in the air. Praying for you all. โค
Wow! Your Play Doh Elsa is incredible. I'm so impressed!
Thank you so much, Rach! You are always so encouraging to me!! Your prayers mean the world to us!
Thanks for the compliments on my Play Doh Elsa, hahaha!
