Calling Poison Control and Other Activities

There’s never a dull moment in the Zottola house.

I was in the kitchen yesterday and thought Sadie was playing in her room with Niva, but it turned out they were in mine and Jimmy’s room, eating the rest of Jimmy’s bottle of melatonin gummies.

To say I was nervous one or both of them could get really sick would be a huge understatement. I called Sadie’s pediatrician and they had me talk to Poison Control. I was assured Sadie would be fine, maybe just drowsy. Same with Niva.

And you know what, they were totally fine. Me, on the other hand? I feel like I should have a head full of gray hair, LOL. Those two certainly keep me on my toes! I’m thanking God everything was okay and we are now keeping the melatonin somewhere far, far away from those two 😉

Other activities as of late:

We filmed a vlog last week! It involves a Starbucks date, homeschool, cleaning up after Niva’s antics, and a major case of the giggles from Sadie at the end.

I had a wolf and a husky join me for lunch on Saturday. I think they were hungry because they wouldn’t stop staring at me and my sandwich 😉

Sadie calls them Niva and Baby Niva and won’t go to sleep without them. It’s the cutest ❤

We’ve had some warm days here and there, so walks have been happening. Sadie is super into picking out her outfits lately and this one was pretty cute. She insists on wearing her rain boots everywhere, all. the. time.

It’s so much fun to take walks with Christmas decor out because Sadie gets so, so excited. Everything is super cool to her and I love seeing the world through her point of view. We drove around and looked at Christmas lights the other night and she was oohing and ahhing left and right!

We’ve done some baking lately! I whipped up a batch of cowboy cookies and we made Paw Patrol sugar cookies together. I picked up a Paw Patrol baking kit the night I went shopping alone and it was a huge hit!

Jimmy and I always laugh about Sadie’s love of Paw Patrol. She is terrified of the show, but she loves looking at pictures of the characters, lol.

Well, I better get this day started. I’m kind of hoping it’s nice and dull after yesterday!

What have you been to lately?

Have you ever had to call Poison Control?

Books and Baking

Books and baking. I’m pretty sure that could have been the name of this blog 😉

I feel like it has been a while since I last posted, but it has only been a few days that have felt like weeks due to a not-so-fun sleep regression and toddler separation anxiety. God is teaching me so much as I parent Sadie and something I’m learning lately is to let go of expectations.

There are a million things I’d like to do, but the most important thing is that I serve God and my family. I’m right where He has me and that’s what matters.

Some days I just won’t get my real estate work done, or the laundry folded, or even get to shower. Some days the only accomplishment I have achieved is getting my toddler to take a stroller nap.

I’m realizing that’s okay. This is such a short, precious season of my life with a little one who is so dependent on me. I’m blessed to be with her each and every day and I pray I can always be present and show her the love God has shown me ❤

Parenting a child can feel so all-consuming at times. It’s the hardest, most rewarding thing I’ve ever done and I constantly feel God refining my character and pushing me to seek Him in every moment.

Onto the baking and books. We had a church fellowship planned for Sunday night and I made blueberry muffins with a cinnamon crumble topping!

Church ended up being cancelled due to a power outage, so we enjoyed the muffins after dinner. We’ve had some windy days here lately.

Jimmy had another long day at work in West Virginia yesterday. He left our house at 5:45 am and got home at 9:45 pm. Sadie and I whipped up brown sugar pumpkin spice cookie dough while he was away and we baked it tonight for us to all celebrate an evening together 🙂

Sorry about the poor lighting… daylight savings life, lol.

Let’s talk books! Here’s what I’m reading at the moment:
