June. Already! Not sure how we’re in the sixth month of 2023, but summer begins this month and I am here for it.

We have a few fun things on deck this month: our church’s vacation Bible school, a trip to the Outer Banks, and gymnastics camp for Sadie. Oh, and Mordecai turns seven months old this month!

Current books The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting and the other books detailed in this post!

Current laugh Sadie and I were playing with her kinetic sand ice cream set and she “made” me ice cream and said it was challah bread flavor. She knows my love of baking challah!

Current fun Jimmy and I did something we used to do a lot before getting married and having kids: we went on a run/bike date! His dad and step mom hung out with the kids while we went on a trail. I ran, he biked, and we got to talk uninterrupted while enjoying a beautiful evening.

Current excitement The pottery Jimmy and I made is all fired and ready for us to paint. We’re going to paint it this week and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Another exciting thing: we’re setting up a tent and camping in our backyard this weekend. I’ll let you know how that plays out 😂

Current food We went over our friends’ house this weekend and made personal pizzas and they hit the spot.

Current kid product We set up this swing for Mordecai and it’s perfect for sitting him in while we’re outside.

Current drink Iced coffee. There’s nothing like sipping on a cold, creamy iced coffee on a hot day!

Current baked good Compost cookies! Basically cookies with everything in them: milk chocolate chips, oatmeal, graham crackers, dried cranberries, and crackers. I’ve also been baking biscotti and cupcakes.

Current joy Eating dinner outside. We’ve been on a roll with this and I love every second of it.

Current goal Planning summer fun! There are so many things I want to do. Do you have a summer bucket list? What’s on it?!

Current cuteness Mordecai is big enough to sit in a shopping cart now!

Current home product I ordered a pack of these pens and they make me happy. They’re so bright and fun.

Current blessing I was having one of those days as a parent. I’m not sure if the kids were acting up or if I was feeling short-tempered (probably both?!) but we were at the store and a woman in the aisle told me I was so patient with the kids and it was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment.

Current beauty product I bought this liquid eyeshadow on a whim recently and love it! Sadie keeps asking to use it because it has a hint of glitter. Girl loves her glitter 😂

Current obsession Making art with Sadie outside. We have a countertop next to our grill and you can find Sadie and I there during Mordecai’s naps. We color, paint, draw, write, glue, and play nonstop and I love it.

Current craving An evening to wander around a bookstore. That sounds so lovely.
