Joy in the Ordinary

There’s nothing like those hard days—the ones where everything feels off and all wrong—to make you appreciate the normal ones. The days where nothing much happens. The sun shines, you go about your daily routines, and end your day cuddled in bed and extra thankful for the simple things.

A good book, healthy kids, trying new recipes, and learning something new every day. Little feet pitter-pattering on our worn hardwood floors, giggles galore, and dirty shoes all signs of life being lived in our little home. These are my everyday joys lately. Closing Out The School Year + Savoring The Small Things

There’s something special about this time of year—we finished our 180 days of homeschool, the days are stretching longer, and we’ve been living life outside as much as possible lately.

I’ve found myself slowing down and really noticing the goodness tucked into our everyday life: adventures at the park, wobbly baby steps, the smell of something baking in the oven, and a dream-come-true book being published. This season has felt full in all the best ways. (more…)
