Life Lately in Pictures

Hi and happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas ๐Ÿ˜Š

I’ll be blogging all about ours later this week but I wanted to share some pictures from the days before the holiday first. There’s something so special about the weeks leading up to Christmas. It’s an exciting and busy time!

So, here are some photos of what life looked like for us in the time before Christmas ๐ŸŽ„

Toddler girls and baby wearing matching blue plaid dresses

Sadie picked out her dress for church on the Sunday before Christmas and we were happily surprised when her cousins Remi and Raven showed up wearing the same dress!

Unplanned cousin matching for the win Of course we had to do a little photoshoot๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Coffee from Nespresso machine

As you’ll quickly start to see in the pictures of this post, a lot of coffee was consumed in the week leading up to Christmas ๐Ÿ˜‚ Etsy kept me busy, and so did preparations for Christmas. Coffee was my hero.

Gluten free lemon shortbread cookies with lemon glaze

Speaking of Etsy, I had a few custom orders! One was for gluten free lemon shortbread cookies with a lemon glaze.

This was my first time making them and the customer was very pleased. Whew! She told me I need to make them a regular item in the shop.

Toddler girl doing preschool worksheets at Starbucks

Sadie and I did a few special coffee-and-school dates at Starbucks! It was a nice change of pace to get her in a different environment for school and I got the bonus of enjoying a great cup of coffee ๐Ÿ˜‰

Broken and bruised pointer finger

I’m 99.9% sure miss Niva broke my finger. Oy vey! I was dropping her off at daycare and she was so excited to go inside that she pulled hard on her leash and smashed my hand between her leash and our car.

Man oh man did it hurt. Well, it’s been hurting since it happened, actually, and it’s still bruised. I called med-express to see if I could get it x-rayed but they’ve been completely overwhelmed with covid cases. Sooo, I’ve just been hanging out with a puffy, bruised, and probably broken finger. There’s not much you can do for it anyways. I think I’ll survive until it heals ๐Ÿ˜†

Sign language books for children and Starbucks coffee

Another coffee and school date! Sadie and I brought some of her sign language books to read while I sipped my coffee.

I love, love, love sign language. I don’t know if I connect with it because my hearing is slowly declining or if I’ve always just loved it. Either way, I’m so happy to introduce Sadie to this special language โค๏ธ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿผ

Mom and daughter in Starbucks

Just me and Sadie girl! Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

Jalapeno Cheddar and Tomato Basil Mozzarella Challah Bread

Another custom order! This was for two loaves of challah bread. One was cheddar jalapeรฑo and the other was tomato, basil, and mozzarella. Which would you rather have?

Guy sitting on couch with black and white husky

I love catching Jimmy and Niva snuggling together โค๏ธ

Girl holding newborn baby

My friend from church had her second baby girl recently and I got to hold her ๐Ÿ˜ Another friend from church is having her baby girl next month! Can’t wait to meet her!!

Reading Queen Esther Saves Her People at Starbucks with toddler

Aaaaand finishing this post off with another coffee and Starbucks date with Sader Tot. I told you there was a lot of coffee in this post ๐Ÿ˜‰

We spent about a week learning all about Esther, Mordecai, and Haman! One of my most favorite books of the Bible is Esther, so we had a lovely week of learning this Old Testament story. I’m thinking I need to introduce her to hamantaschen for Purim in 2022!

What would pictures of your life lately look like?

  1. Something about sitting inside a Starbucks cafe brings such a warmth my soul. I love the ambiance. The hustle and bustle of Starbucks makes it one of my favorite coffee shops to sit inside. YUM to those gluten free cookies. My life lately would be filled with work, walks, bike rides, and today…SNOW.

  2. Aww how cute that they all matched!

Ouch, sorry to hear about your finger. I hope it heals soon! I remember you writing about natural medicines before and I think arnica and comfrey are two herbs that are good for sprains and breaks. In fact, the nickname for comfrey is knitbone!

Sounds like you’ve had a very busy month with your business. I’m glad it’s going well and I hope you’ve been able to have some rest and relaxation with family over the Christmas holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. What a wonderful Christmas season and month… Minus the finger- so sorry about that, I hope it heals soon!! Moose does the same thing with the excitement going into dog daycare, so I totally see how that could happen.

That challah bread looks absolutely amazing, my mouth is watering.

    Thank you for sharing, Allie!

  4. Those challah breads are absolutely beautiful!!!
So over the weekend, there would have been lots of chaos and coffee pics… HA! I loved Christmas this year, but – at the same time – I was overwhelmed by it. And I hate to say that, because I LOVE Christmas. But I did too much and it left me depleted. I’m such a work in progress when it comes to balance, and I hope – and plan – to do MUCH better this upcoming year! ๐Ÿ™‚
