Hello and welcome to January! It’s a brand new year. There’s something exciting about a fresh start. 😊
Here’s what’s current for me this month. Please share some of your answers to these prompts in the comments—I can’t wait to hear what is going on for you this month!
Current books I’m loving Jesus Calling for Moms and reading a few pages of this novel before bed every night. Sadie and I are reading Young David: Warrior together, Mordecai has been enjoying this garbage truck-themed book, and Dakota likes all the flaps in Where’s the Cat?
Current food Leapin’ Lemurs cereal because apparently I’m a child. I just love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. Put it in cereal form and I’m done for!
Current baked good Peanut butter blossoms as seen in this post.
Currently looking forward to Taking Sadie rollerblading again. Also very much looking forward to spring. 😉
Current fun Making a cookbook with Sadie! We started doing this during her school time to work on life skills and we are both enjoying this project. I just bought a blank book and we’re adding all of her favorite recipes to it. We plan on adding smoothies, four ingredient energy bites, brownies, and more.
Current excitement I’m working on a new writing project. I can’t wait to share more soon.
Current beauty products It’s the time of year when my skin becomes super pale, so self tanner to the recuse! I love that this formula is safe to use while breastfeeding. I am also liking this natural conditioner.
Current blessing Starting a new year happy and healthy! God is so good.
Current prayer Dakota has ophthalmologist and vascular plastic surgery appointments coming up in February and March. These appointments will give us more info on moving forward with treating her eyelid hemangioma. We will be able to have her vision checked and figure out if she should have any surgeries in the future. We’re praying for the appointments to go well and for wisdom with whatever information and suggestions we’re presented with.
Current laugh Dakota’s bedhead!
Current kid products Sadie has been having a blast with this instant camera. Okay, I’ll admit I love using it too! Mordecai is all about his crane, and Dakota thinks these sort and seek animals are pretty fun.
Current home product This silly statue makes me so happy every time I see it outside our front door.
Current drink Even though it’s the dead of winter, I’ve still been loving a vanilla iced latte from time to time.
Current craving This one is random and makes no sense because it’s frigid in Pittsburgh at the moment, but I really want to go horseback riding. Maybe in the spring!
Current indulgence Working on painting Sadie’s Russian nesting dolls. I’m surprising her with them to add to her collection! On Saturday, she spent time with my mother-in-law so I had a chance to paint while she was out of the house. It was 2:00 pm and I hadn’t made our bed yet but I painted dolls and it was fun. 😬
Current need I need to grab Dakota some fleece pajamas. She has all of Sadie’s old clothes, but Sadie was a September baby and Dakota was a February baby, so their seasons don’t line up exactly. Most of Sadie’s nine month clothes are summer-y. Dakota is wearing nine month clothes right now, when we’re lucky if the high temperature for the day is 30 degrees!
Current scripture Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Current goal Planning Dakota’s first birthday party! How is she turning one next month?!
Current song NO L’S by Forrest Frank.
Current joy Being creative. With writing projects, crafts, decorating, and even organizing around the house.
Current cuteness Sadie proudly displaying the pillow we made! Can you tell we’re excited for Valentine’s Day in the Zottola home?!

dad
Thank you! I learned from the best—you! Love you!
I love when you do your current post! I will try to answer a few of your prompts in reference to my current life events – def not as exciting as yours!!! 🙂
I am actually not currently reading a book, but I am about to finally start Kenny Chesney’s memoir.
Current food – It’s hard for me to think of this – being a post-stomach virus victim. I guess I’m super into overhard eggs and pistachios (not together tho)
Currently looking forward to springtime – and the beauty of it! Also, beach season with all the grandkids heading to OBX for some fun at the beach and pool!
Current beauty product – LOVING the LOLAVIE hair care products – Thanks Jennifer Aniston
Current blessing – SO MANY TO COUNT. My health, family, husband, children and grandchildren – the fact that we are all within a 20ish mile radius!
Current prayer – For all of the grandkids upcoming appointments to be positive and that they’re all growing and thriving. 🙂
Current drink – any hot tea!
Current need – to organize my bathroom closet :///
Current song – Don’t Mind if I Do – Riley Green & Ella Langley 🙂
Current joy – hearing my grandkids say “I love you YaYa” its just THE BEST!
Current goal – to train for a 5k dad and I signed up for on Valentine’s day. ugh
Love you,
Madre
I always wonder if those posts bore people to tears or if they’re liked hahah. I know I like looking back on previous years to see what we were up to!
If you need your next book, let me know! You know I always have a good one for ya!
Sooo glad you’re liking the hair products! I can’t wait for spring, too!
I can help you organize your bathroom closet 🙂
Love you!
Current book: The Persians by Sanam Mahloudji. It has really good reviews and I’m about a third of the way through it, but I’m not enjoying it very much at the moment. I’m struggling to find the characters likeable. Hopefully it will improve!
Current beauty product: I love Erborian CC cream and it’s basically all I wear for makeup, with a swipe of mascara too. I keep thinking about wedding makeup because I’m not used to foundation and I just want to feel like me on the day. I might have to go to a few makeup counters and trial some products. I’ve never worn much makeup so I feel a bit ignorant 😅
Current fun: I booked a course of four agility classes for Polly, starting on Valentine’s Day. I’m really looking forward to it!
Current blessing: all my family being healthy 💗
I love your cookbook project with Sadie, such a great idea and a way for her to practise multiple skills.
I will have to look that book up! I’m always on the hunt for my next book!
I’ve never heard of the brand Erborian! Another thing for me to look up, haha. I’m not a huge makeup girl either! I had my makeup done for my wedding and probably shouldn’t have because I was like “Don’t make me not look like me!” so they didn’t use a lot of makeup!
I hope the agility classes go well for Polly! I want to hear all about them as you go through!
Love, love, love your current blessing. Health is everything!
I’ve almost finished reading it and to be honest I wouldn’t recommend it. It didn’t get any better, I was just determined to finish it because I don’t like leaving books half-read haha.
I’ll definitely let you know how Polly gets on with the classes. She’s off to the vet today for her booster vaccine so she’s all up to date before we start!
Haha, I love you determination! I will skip that book 😉
I hope Polly’s vet appointment went great. Less than a month until her classes–yay!
