Hello 2023! It’s month numero uno and I am excited for it. I want to hear about what you’re up to this month, any big goals you have for the year, travel plans, etc. in the comments.

Here’s what’s current in my life this month.

Current book Risen Motherhood. I first heard about this when I completed the Risen Motherhood devotion in the Bible app. I really enjoyed it, so I purchased the book and am also enjoying it!

Current food Jimmy gave me this peanut butter for Christmas and it was so good that I finished the jar in less than a week. I ordered this flavor to try next and I can’t wait!

Current cuteness Mordecai wearing a suit. My mother-in-law gave him some dress clothes for Christmas and he looked like such a little man all dressed up.

Current drink Starbucks veranda blend k-cups. I love a good blonde roast!

Current goal Organizing Sadie’s bedroom. She was given some awesome doll toys and accessories for Christmas and I need to find a place for them!

Current joy Seeing my sisters son grow and thrive after going through intrauterine growth restriction. My sister sent the photos below and I was blown away at how much Titus has grown in four months!

Current beauty product Super glamorous, but I’m loving this deodorant. I want to try Olive and June nail polish. Has anyone used it? I feel like I keep hearing good things about it!

Current baked good I probably sound like a broken record lately, but I’m loving this lactation cookie mix.

Current preschool favorite Sadie has been really into this search and find game. I love that it’s reusable because it wipes clean!

Current excitement We’re starting our monthly family nights up again for 2023. We pick one night (or day!) a month to do a special activity as a family. I know we will draw a name out of a hat to shop for each family member for Valentine’s Day in February, but I’m not sure what we’ll do for January. If you have any ideas, send them my way!

Current blessing We’ve been having a warm spell to start out the year and I am loving it. High temperatures in the 60s? Count me in!

Current laugh Sadie got an American Girl Doll horse for Christmas and decided she and Mordecai needed to “ride” it together.

Current obsession Decorating for Valentine’s Day! It’s one of my favorite holidays, so I try to make our little home festive for the occasion. I’ll share some pictures in my next post 🙂

Current song Affirmation Song by Doggyland & Snoop Dogg. Totally random, right? Jimmy introduced Sadie to it and now we listen to it every day and I find myself saying the affirmations.

Current obsession Time with my family! Jimmy didn’t have work on Monday (January 2nd) so we went to Panera Bread for breakfast on a whim and did school with Sadie.

Current craving I really want to travel somewhere… preferably somewhere warm. I’m currently scouting out road races in the Outer Banks and trying to convince my parents and Jimmy that we need to go and run a race. Nevermind the fact that I haven’t run since before I was pregnant… so a year ago, LOL.

Current need A date night with Jimmy! We were given a couple of local restaurant gift cards for Christmas so I am hoping to plan a date night soon!

Current fun Seeing Sadie ride her new bike! She took right to it and it has been pure joy for us to see her learn a new skill.

  1. Such a fun start to your year! Unfortunately I have not been feeling well at all for a few days- so the new year hasn’t started with a boom for me… but I know I’ll be on the upswing and feeling my ‘old’ self again soon. It’s so cute you have family nights- and something you document for Sadie and Mordecai to remember forever!! 💗
Your picture are adorable- as usual!
    Love you!

  2. I am SO excited for this brand new year! Nate and I both turn 40 and celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, so we’re planning our first-ever, mini getaway just the two of us. I cannot wait! And we have so many fun, family plans for this year too. I’m also looking forward to getting back into running (it has been YEARS since I’ve been a dedicated runner), and I just want to be more present this year with my family. It’s going to be a good year! 🙂

  3. Anddd that comment was all about me… HA!!! Loving the pics you shared! That peanut butter sounds fantastic. And I love that you decorate for Valentine’s Day. I kind of want to as well!! 🙂

  4. I love that you also look for races to run as a way to travel. I was looking for something early spring, but I think I will have to put it on hold for other travel plans that popped up. I used to love traveling to run though! I cannoooottt with Mordecai in that suit! What a little stud.

  5. So many fun things to kick off 2023!

I’m currently enjoying the next week or so more im back here with fam! I also have a marathon coming up soon (!!)… It will be my first marathon since Covid lol!

Wow Titus has grown a lot and is looking healthy!

Also, funny you mention nail polish! I just got a manicure done today for the very first time in my life 😂 haha I used to put on nail polish when I was a kid but I’ve also been a chronic nail biter since forever. Decided I’d put in effort to stop the habit hence getting my nails done by a professional haha

  6. I have tried Olive and June nail polish and I’ve been pleased with it!

That PB sounds amazing! I need to know what other flavors you try and how they are. I’m eyeing the chocolate chip cookie dough one… that sounds amazing!

Titus is growing so well! Such wonderful news! 🙂
