April is here! It feels like spring around Pittsburgh. Our grass is getting greener (and longer!) each day, I’m seeing daffodils, tulips, and forsythia everywhere, and we’ve been having lots of rain. Yup, definitely April 🌦️

Here’s what’s current in my life this month. Please share some of your responses in the comments. I love knowing what you are up to!

Current books Sadie found a coding book and while some of it is a little over my head, she totally understands all the terms. She has also been enjoying Bad Kitty books because the cat looks like our very own black (and bad 😂)  kitty, Malcolm! Mordecai has been reaching for Biscuit books off his shelf lately and I’m about to start Hannah’s Children.

Current joy I got back in our hot tub after pregnancy/postpartum. The second I sat down I just melted into a puddle of happiness ☺️

Current baked good Resurrection rolls! The kids and I have also been making mug cakes lately. I’ll have to share our recipe soon. We use like four or five ingredients and microwave them for a minute. Such an easy snack!

Current food Spicy chicken thighs made with cherry peppers. I’m in such a rut and make these over and over again but I’m not mad about it.

Current blessing Dakota! She has started to smile a bit more and it is our family’s personal mission to get as many smiles out of er as possible every time she’s awake 😬

Current goal Celebrating Easter! I am planning to read the account of Jesus’ death and resurrection as we get closer to the holiday. We’ll have a special dinner and I’ll put together baskets for the kids!

Current drink Can’t get enough of these blonde roast beans. Breastfeeding can be super dehydrating so I’ve been sipping on this electrolyte drink throughout the day, too.

Current cuteness Sadie and Mordecai hanging out in the hot tub. They look so grown up lately!

Current home product This butter crock! I always wanted to be someone who had butter out on the counter (big dreams over here haha) but we didn’t use it quite enough to not let it go bad on the counter. Now I have a butter crock that seals the butter with water and it stays soft on the countertop. Yay!

Current beauty product Hair filler serum. I love that this can be used on dry or damp hair.

Current fun Family time! We took the kids out for their first frozen yogurt experience and Sadie was so cute. She chose vanilla frozen yogurt and I showed her the toppings bar and I was like “There are sprinkles, gummy worms, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and more!” and she looked frazzled and kept circling around the bar to look at everything. I figured out what the issue was: she thought she could only pick one topping. Once I cleared the air, she was so excited to choose multiple toppings!

Current craving I want to take the kids to the Heinz History Museum here in Pittsburgh. We would drive past it to/from every prenatal appointment and Sadie always pointed out the Heinz ketchup bottle on the outside of the building. It’s time to introduce her to the history of the best ketchup out there 😜

Current excitement My sister is having her son this month! Also, I’m getting my hair cut this week. Can’t wait for my hair to feel less… blah! The postpartum hair loss is setting in, so I am ready for a trim.

Current laugh Pretty much everything Mordecai says and does lately. He is at such a fun age!

Current need Updating Mordecai’s wardrobe for the spring/summer season! He is in need of church shoes and he pulled out a t-shirt from last summer the other day and it was a belly shirt 😆

Current kid product Washable paint. Mordecai is so into painting lately and this craft-loving mom is enjoying every second of it! Mordecai also plays nonstop with Lego Duplo sets, especially this recycling truck and this fire truck one.

Current mood Joyful and thankful 💛
