I don’t know how we’re in the fourth month of 2018 already, but here we are. This year is flying by, and I am looking forward to this new season. I saw some daffodil leaves (is that what they’re called?) beginning to bud in our neighbor’s yard, so I know spring-like weather is truly coming soon. Here are some current things from my life!
Current goal Organizing our house and going through all of our items to see what we no longer use and can donate.
Current Drink Peppermint tea, and also warm, frothy milk. I read peppermint tea can often help morning sickness, so I tried it out and love it! I have also tried this tea for morning sickness (and it has helped), but it’s a lot more expensive than buying a 20 pack of peppermint tea for less than $2.00 at Aldi.
Current beauty product Dollar Shave Club Pillowy Shave Lather. Random, right? Dollar Shave Club is a shaving subscription service totally geared towards men, and Jimmy loves it. I tried his shave lather and got hooked, so he ordered me my own bottle! It. Smells. So. Good.
Current book Bringing Up Bebe by Pamela Druckerman. I first read this book in 2013 (I have no clue why I was reading a parenting book at age 20?!), and it has been fun to reread it now that Jimmy and I are expecting. Lots of interesting points and differences between French and American parenting styles.
Current craving More warm weather walks with Lola and Mavis!
Current song Point to You by We Are Messengers. The lyrics are just beautiful.
Current obsession I just brought home a cookbook on Jewish baking (challah recipes galore!) and have been thumbing through it and finding so many recipes I want to try. I think a chocolate cherry challah is first on my list.
Current food Pork chops.
Current blessing Jimmy and I did our taxes and will be getting enough of a refund that we are able to replace the gutters on our house! This is much needed, and we’re feeling so thankful that God worked that out for us.
Current excitement Jimmy and I are planning a vacation! We went camping for two nights last year, and this year we are doing something a bit longer (and easier, lol). Super, super excited.
Current procrastination Getting Mavis re-tested for the Canine Good Citizen Test. We need to practice having strangers touch her paws and body a bit more before she re-tests.
Current indulgence Naps, naps, and more naps 🙂
Current prayer We’re praying the boy we sponsor at Ninos De Mexico has a great birthday next month. We’ve been getting his gift together (we bought him The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in Spanish) and have been thinking of him and praying for him as we get ready to ship it.
Your current goal is my current procrastination haha.
My obsession is our new puppy Bailey. Thanks again for sending me the email with all of the info 🙂
It’s my procrastination, too! I’m just so lazy about stuff like that sometimes… until it bugs me and I do it all in one go and feel so much better haha.
I’m obsessed with Bailey, too! She’s so adorable! I’m glad the email was helpful 🙂
That is SO great about your taxes! Honestly, that sounds amazing. I’m an independent contractor and I feel like I get absolutely penalized with the self-employment tax every year for not being an “employee.” I feel like we are doing something wrong because we always owe thousands and never get a refund. Maybe time to see a tax person, lol. 😉 That’s so exciting for you guys, though!!
Aw, I’m so sorry you guys always end up owing! When I worked as a housekeeper/house manager for a family two tax seasons ago, I ended up owing and it was frustrating! Maybe you guys could see a tax professional and get some extra help with that! You never know! 🙂
We are definitely planning on meeting with a tax professional to see what we can do for a better turnout. There must be something we can do! 🙂
Bringing Up Bebe was so interesting! I’m glad you are enjoying it on this reread.
Your shaving cream sounds so luxurious! What a name. Well done marketing person. Now I want to buy some, haha!
Yay for clearing out the house and donating things! We’re in the process of that right now too. We do it every spring and it feels so great to pass on things that you don’t use anymore.
I can’t wait to hear more about your vacation!!
Bringing Up Bebe really is fascinating! I’d love to do that type of research and look that deeply into things like that!
The shaving cream is just amazing, and you’re so right.. the name is great marketing!
I can’t wait to share more about our vacation and also to get our spring cleaning/donating done!
Currently I’m praying for warm weather to come fast so I don’t have to plug in anymore! I am also asking God for guidance right now as I was offered a free apartment basically, but I am attached to my van I don’t really want it…except it’s cold at night and this apartment is closer to work. Hmmm…decisions…
I’ll be praying for your decisions, Ellie! I’m ready for warm weather, too!! I hope NY gets some sunshine and warmth ASAP!
Hope the tea works! If not, Target makes ‘Preggo drops’ which are just sour candies. I bought cheap sour candies for this pregnancy and they seemed to help a lot too. (Lemonheads and the like). Lemon water has helped this time too.
Your pups are just too cute. Hope Mavis passes her test this time!
Lemonheads and lemon water sound lovely! I’ll definitely give ‘em a try!
Thanks for the compliment on our pups!! I hope Mavis passes, too 🙂
So many fun things are going on in April for you it looks like!
Yes! All sorts of fun!! 🙂
