Sunday Coffee Date

Hey hey! I feel like it’s past time for a little Sunday Coffee Date post. The last time I wrote one of these was in February. These are some of my favorite posts to write because I ramble on about things that I’d want to talk about if we were getting a cup of coffee (or tea!) together.

Please join in with what you would want to talk about if we were having coffee in the comments!

Iced toasted vanilla shaken oatmilk espresso from Starbucks

If we were having coffee right now… I would be drinking the coffee pictured above: an iced toasted vanilla oat milk shaken espresso. It’s quite a mouthful to say, but so refreshing! It gives me a nice caffeine boost, too 😬

If we were having coffee right now... I’d tell all the dads out there reading (let’s be honest, it’s probably just my dad and maybe Jimmy haha) Happy Father’s Day! We will be heading into church this morning and then staying after for a picnic. Do you have any fun plans for the day?

If we were having coffee right now… I would tell you that I drove past a gas station today and gas was $4.99 per gallon. What are gas prices like where you live? I’ve noticed inflation a lot with groceries, so I’ve been trying to save money on proteins by having less meat and more canned tuna, tofu, beans, and eggs. Do you have any tactics for dealing with inflation on everyday essentials?

If we were having coffee right now… I would show you a picture of our living room accent wall! As I mentioned yesterday, Jimmy dedicated most of his Saturday to painting. I mowed, did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, got groceries, and washed our bedding. So much fun πŸ˜‰

If we were having coffee right now… I would tell you that Niva is blowing her coat like crazy lately. Huge clumps of fur just fall off of her (and onto the couch… and floor… and our clothes) no matter how much we brush her. We are vacuuming a lot around here! I wouldn’t trade the husky life for the world, though. I love our escape artist pupperoni pizza πŸ’œ

If we were having coffee right now… I would laugh and tell you that our neighbor saw me practicing archery and called me a pregnant robin hood. Accurate πŸ˜‚

If we were having coffee right now… I’d ask you if you’re reading any good books. Jimmy gave me this memoir (he knows the key to my heart: books! Especially memoirs.) for my birthday and I’m also reading this fiction novel set on Nantucket. Sadie has been enjoying this cute book!

If we were having coffee right now… I would tell you that I’m jealous of how Sadie spent her Saturday while Jimmy and I were working around the house. Little miss went strawberry picking at a local farm with Jimmy’s mom, step-dad, sister, and step-sister! Lucky duck. I can’t complain too much, because she came home with a bunch of strawberries for us to enjoy and we were given uninterrupted time to get stuff done 😊

If we were having coffee right now… I would confess that I have no idea what I’m going to do with my Etsy shop after I have baby boy. Do I do a maternity leave? Limit my inventory? Extend processing times? This is something I’m going to have to think on and pray about! Speaking of that, what’s something you would do if you weren’t afraid? I would open a local bakery. I feel really inadequate on the business front, but I love the baking part. I think that’s why Etsy has been such a good fit for me!

If we were having coffee right now... I would tell you about how I recently had to deal with confrontation and stand up for Sadie regarding her swim lessons and how it was really difficult for me. I’ve thought about blogging about it, but I don’t want it to come off the wrong way? I’ll probably discuss it soon anyways because writing is how I process things and I already overshare our lives here so why not keep the trend going 😜

What would you want to discuss if we were having coffee together?

  2. I love memoirs! I’m reading Deaf Utopia by Nyle DiMarco right now and it’s really interesting. I’m also reading The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle (a historical fiction story) because my wedding is in two weeks so it felt like it was good timing for that one πŸ™‚
