Thoughts From The Past Few Days

– I went to the store to restock Jimmy’s melatonin gummies after the incident the other day and when I got home Jimmy looked at me and was like “Not to be rude, but did you wear that out?” LOL. I was wearing jogger sweatpants and an embroidered flowy white shirt. My only response was that I wore a jacket over the shirt 🤷🏼‍♀️

-I got Sadie this puzzle and we’ve both been having so much fun with it. I’ve really been enjoying playing matching games with Sadie. She smiles so big every time she finds a match and it’s the cutest. Fellow parents: are there any games for toddlers I should know about?! Tell me your favorites!

-See that box in the upper left hand corner of the above picture? A big Amazon box showed up at our door and Jimmy was super excited. I had no clue what it was. He bought a gigantic Nerf gun 😂 He’s been having a lot of fun with that as he gets ready for a Nerf battle at our church this weekend, lol.

-We’re supposed to get a few inches of snow today and I can’t wait!

-Just a photo of the partners in crime ^ I’m not sure which of them will enjoy the upcoming snow more?!

-I’ve been reading the account of Jesus’ birth in Luke 1 and verse 38 really stuck out to me this morning. I want to have the same attitude as Mary.

-Sadie let my mom put her hair in a pony!

-Our church youth group is putting together fruit and cookie trays for some members of our church tonight and I signed up to bake cookies for the trays. I can’t decide which cookies to make! I’m thinking I’ll bake gingersnaps but I’m not 100% sure. Any ideas?!

Pinecones and a Dog Bone

What do pinecones and dog bones have in common? Nothing really, except the fact that Sadie nibbled on both on Saturday.

Sader Tot is obsessed with anything that belongs to Niva including her water dish, food, and bones. It’s a good thing Niva is great at sharing.

As for the pinecones, we did some crafting! Jimmy went to a leaf raking service project at our church and brought home some pinecones thinking I would want to craft with them. He knows me well 🙂

Mom and daughter making bird feeders with pinecones

We tied twine around the pinecones, covered them with peanut butter, and rolled them in bird seed. It was definitely messy–I’m pretty sure I’ll be cleaning a mixture of bird seed and peanut butter off of every kitchen surface for a few weeks–but a ton of fun!

We plan on hanging them soon and I’m super excited to see what Sadie thinks when she sees a bird eating from her little homemade bird feeder. It worked out well, too, because she’s learning about birds and fall this week in school!

Other fun over the weekend included a trip to Starbucks with my girls. Mama got a (much needed) coffee, Sadie got a chocolate milk, and Niva got a fun car ride. It was a win for all of us.

Okay, I’m going to sign off now. I have no brain power left. We’re still going through the whole sleep/nap strike thing over here and my eyes are already heavy at 5:35 pm.

Tell me about your weekend!
