Picnic Lunch + Something I Haven’t Done In Years

I think we finally figured out the whole I-don’t-want-to-nap-or-sleep thing with Sadie: the two year sleep regression. Not fun! If any parents out there have tips… or coffee… or sanity they can lend out, let me know 😉

In the meantime, you’ll probably find me in Sadie’s crib trying to get her to sleep or chugging coffee, and I will admit I have done both of those at the same time, lol.

We had a little picnic outside on Friday afternoon. I packed Sadie a lunch and she ate it on top of her swing set and thought that was the coolest.

I love those little moments so much ❤

On Saturday I did something I haven’t done in years: I ran a 5k! Longtime readers of this blog might remember me doing all sorts of running back in the day. I very rarely run nowadays, but my mom wanted to do a 5k together so we signed up.

We ran the Harvest Moon Race in Pittsburgh and whew was it a tough course! I ran the 10 mile race in 2011 and must have forgot about the hills when I signed up this year, lol. Also, it was cold.

My mom and I had such a great time and I’m really glad we were able to do that together. She’s already trying to get me to sign up for the 5k we watched her and my dad run in December last year 😉

What’s one thing you haven’t done in years?

  1. Well- it has been a while since I ran too, but it was so much fun doing our first race together!! I’m so proud of your accomplishment there!
    3RD PLACE FENALE OVERALL!!
I laughed so hard that day when we were joking about ‘all 50-59 year old females please line up for a photo’… I’ll stop there 😂😂
Me walking all the hills and not even caring ~ I’m still glad I did it – jacked up knee and all.
Praying we can do Run Santa Run with Padre!

  2. Yay for running a 5k with your mom! How fun!

Friend, I hope sleep returns back to normal soon. There are SO many things that can disrupt sleep at this age and sometimes it’s just a lot of trial and error of what works best. Hang in there. ❤
