I’m enjoying the fresh start of a new month! It always feels good to flip our calendar to the next month and see what’s coming up. Here’s what’s current in my life. Please share what’s going on for you this month in the comments!
Current books Meet Me at The Cupcake Cafe and a Bible study on evangelism by Daily Grace Co.!
Current food Pomodoro Fresco Arrabiatta Sauce. This is so good with breaded chicken thighs and hot peppers.
Current confession I am notoriously unprepared with the kids when we’re out and about. Things like diapers, spare changes of clothes, snacks, etc. just aren’t something I think about too often. We went mini golfing and when we pulled into the parking lot, I realized Dakota had a dirty diaper. Did I have any extra diapers for her? Nope. I did not. Did I find one of Mordecai’s pull-ups and put it on her? Yes, I did 😂
Current drink In the afternoon, I often mix Explorer Cold Brew with oat milk and coffee syrup. For my morning coffee, I just grabbed a bag of Starbucks Casi Cielo coffee beans. It has notes of Meyer lemon and cocoa nibs ☕️
Current baby products Now that we’re feeding Dakota baby food, two things have come in handy: bibs and stain remover spray.
Current mood Joyful! Just enjoying life and this season and all the fun it brings.
Current excitement I’m looking forward to Sadie’s birthday and birthday party later this month!
Current baked good Peanut butter banana granola 🥜🍌
Current indulgence Dreaming of decorating for fall! I’m excited 🍂
Current obsession Thinking of things to add to a fall fun list for our family! Feel free to send any ideas my way 😊
Current joy Sadie’s independence lately. She is great at riding her bike and now we can do things like have her ride her bike to a local convenience store while I walk alongside her. It’s still wild to me because I was sure she was going to breastfeed until she was ten years old. Now she’s reading and riding her bike like a pro!
Current beauty products I’ve got three: Dove 0% Aluminum Deodorant (smells so lovely!), Crest Deep Stain Remover Toothpaste (I literally noticed whiter teeth immediately 😬), and Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer (keeps my eyeshadow in place all day!).
Current need New sunglasses. It was always a goofy point of pride that I’ve had the same sunglasses since 2016 (I got them while visiting Savannah, GA!). Sadly, I lost them at the zoo. I was really in need of a new pair because those were super scratched… but still. Waaa!
Current blessing I know I’m a broken record… but everyday life! The little everyday moments are my favorite.
Current cuteness Dakota sporting another fall-themed outfit 🎃
Current laugh Mordecai repeats everything we say. Everything! We were sitting at the dinner table and I was telling Jimmy how I wanted to make homemade deli meat (yes, these are the things I discuss with my husband 😆) and I was like “Yeah, so you brine it overnight…” and Mordecai sat at the table, shrugged, and repeated in his casual voice “Yeah, so you brine it overnight…” LOL.
Another laugh was at the end of a long day. Sadie had been outside playing and riding her bike all day. Basically: she was exhausted. She flopped onto the couch and had tears in her eyes. I was like “What’s wrong?!” and she, very seriously, replied “I just feel like I need to do a cartwheel and I don’t know how!”
Current kid products Sadie is loving Polly Pockets and Mordecai always wants to play with his magnatiles.
Current fun Mini golfing with the kids! It was totally chaotic but also totally adorable to watch them try to hit the ball.
Current scripture Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
Current craving I want to make a little family day trip to Cabela’s! It’s a big outdoor goods store in West Virginia and always a fun little outing. I also want to make a little trip to Hobby Lobby for some fall crafting inspiration and supplies!
Current song The Rock by Forrest Frank and Crowder. Our whole family jams out to this!
Current home product Clear storage bins. I love me a cute woven basket, but these have been a game changer for being able to see what I’m storing. Who would have thought haha 🤣
