Currently: September 2019

We are somehow in the ninth month of 2019. How?! Here’s what’s currently going on in my life.

Sunrise in nature on trail in Pittsburgh, PA

Current book This book on how to improve your relationship with your phone. Man is it good! I highly recommend if you’re ever frustrated by how much you use your phone.

Current beauty product Can dental floss be considered a beauty product? I like how easy to use these mini flossers are. I’m beginning to realize I’m a bit of a dental nerd. I love trying out new toothpastes and all things dental-related, lol.

Currently feeling Behind on pretty much everything, lol. This sweet little girl keeps me busy!

Baby smiling in bumble bee dress

Current blessing Safety. My parents left their beach house in the Outer Banks just before hurricane Dorian hit and I’m so glad they made it back to Pittsburgh safely.

I forgot to mention in my last post that Jimmy and Sadie and I were walking on the beach one morning when we were interviewed about the evacuation and we actually made it on the news. We’re in the first video starting at the 1:18 mark.

Current baked good Brownies! I picked up this mix and was skeptical of it, but pleasantly surprised by how fudgy and delicious these brownies turned out!

Current goal Organizing our basement. I just donated a bunch of items we weren’t using and now I need to organize the things we do have.

Current craving Doing something crafty for fall. I’m thinking some watercoloring or making a homemade wreath is in order soon!

Current fun Spending time with Jimmy and Sadie. Since we had to cut our vacation short, we decided to make the best of Jimmy’s time off work and have a little staycation here in Pittsburgh. We took Sadie on a trail walk and played at a few local playgrounds it was a blast!

Mom and dad at park with baby girl

Current baby product This adorable bath rinser cup that keeps water out of Sadie’s eyes while we bathe her.

Current food Salmon! I think I could eat it every day and never get sick of it.

Current drink Chocolate chia seed smoothies. I never thought to add chia seeds to a smoothie until I realized how thick they make them and now I’m hooked!

Current excitement Our neighborhood has its annual fall festival in a few weeks and I can’t wait to go with Sadie and Jimmy! Last year Sadie was still in the womb and this year I have a feeling she’s going to love the petting zoo. What a difference a year can make 🙂

Tell me something current in your life!

  1. I think I need to track that book down: I’m getting a little alarmed by how much time I waste on twitter and Instagram. It’s a terrific servant, but a very poor master 😦

    1. It is truly an awesome book! It’s very affordable on Amazon, and maybe your local library even has it! You hit the nail on the head about things like social media or our phones being a terrific servant, but a very poor master. I was nodding my head so hard when I read your comment!

  2. I’ve been having chia seeds whenever possible in acai bowls! They have such a unique texture and are so good! Also, they have an extra benefit of helping ‘regulate the bowels’ lol.

  3. I love all of your pics so much!!
I am currently trying to catch up on work at home and with real estate!
I think we need to plan next year’s family vacay around the hurricane season. I was so sad we were all evacuated!! We all waited and planned such a special week— I guess God had a different plan for us!
    Love you beautiful mama

    1. Thank you so much, mama! I hope you can get all caught up and back on track with everything you have going on at home and with the real estate business! I agree about next year’s vacation and how God had a different plan for us!

      Love you so much! ❤

  4. You guys were on the news!!! Sadie girl is famous! 😉 On a serious note, though, I’m so glad your parents made it back safely!

I’ve seen that bath rinser before and wondered how well it worked! Good to know it works so well for your Sadie. Speaking of her… she is SO big! I cannot, just cannot believe she will be ONE so soon. Didn’t you JUST tell me that you were pregnant with her?

I’ve been on a salmon kick lately too! Do you have a favorite recipe I need to try? I’m suuuper basic normally. Salt, pepper, garlic powder. Boom. Tonight we’re trying a Mediterranean version, though. I’m hoping it turns out great.

Sadie is going to have a blast with the petting zoo! Please blog about it! Or at least Instagram! I want to see it all. 🙂

  5. Dental floss is totally a beauty product lol I love that’s what you chose to share this month. 🙂 So happy your parents made it back home safely & that’s super cool you guys made it on the news

I’m always super skeptical about newer “healthy” brownie mixes but I’ve actually never ran into a bad one. Other desserts are more sketchy for some reason!

Salmon is one of my faves, too, & the chia seed smoothie looks awesome!

    Thanks for sharing, Sadie! ♡
