May! I can’t believe it! I love this month. It’s finally warming up here in the ‘Burgh and we have so many family birthdays and celebrations coming up.

Dogwood tree

Our dogwood tree is almost done blooming!

Here’s what’s current for me this month. Please share yours in the comments 🙂

Current books I’m almost finished with The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella and it’s great. A light, funny read. Mordecai is loving Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Sadie and I are reading the newest Fosterland book, and Dakota has been enjoying a high contrast board book called Black Cat & White Cat.

Current joy The warm weather! This winter felt long, and now that it’s May, it feels like spring is finally here and I am loving every minute of porch swing sitting and after dinner family walks 🫶

Current food Stuffed peppers! Also loving these lemon-flavored cookies, wild honey peanut butter, and toffee peanut butter.

Stuffed peppers

Current drink Still obsessed with these coffee beans.

Current blessing A run with Sadie! We were walking together in our neighborhood and she said “Mom, you’re not pregnant anymore and you’re not holding Dakota… can we run?!” so I ran in jean shorts for about 200 yards with her and she was so happy!!

Current home product Our locking garbage can (perfect for those with dogs and curious toddlers 😬) and robot vacuum.

Current beauty product Self tanning drops. I love that they’re all natural and give me a nice glow when I use them. I just put 1-3 drops in face lotion! Also just ordered these hair ties and I love that they’re no-damage.

Current fun Card making with Sadie! We send cards out each week to various people in our lives and I figured, why not make our own?! I ordered this kit and we are both having so much fun with it. She said she wants to sell her cards!

Current craving Alone time. It’s hard to come by lately, but that’s okay. I know someday I will miss these busy, crazy days with three kids!

Current excitement Dakota laughed for the first time recently. It was so sweet!

Current laugh Dakota laying next to my sister-in-law’s Maine Coon, Slate. He is huge (over 20 pounds!) and such a sweet cat 🥰

Maine Coon cat

Current need A lightweight bed blanket for the summer months. I’m thinking something yellow 💛

Current cuteness Jimmy mowing while holding Mordecai!

Dad mowing while holding toddler

Current kid product If I’m ready for noisy play, I pull out this pounding toy for the kids. They love it! Once they’re done, it goes into hiding because it is loud, lol. Also loving no-spill bubbles for outdoor playtime!

Current goal Getting together gifts for Mother’s Day, birthdays (our extended family has quite a few this month!), and Father’s Day.

Current prayer For Dakota to feel better! She’s battling her first sickness and it’s pitiful to see her coughing and having a runny nose.

  1. May always puts an extra spring in your step! That looks huge next to Dakota!

Mordecai looks totally into mowing the lawn with Jimmy!

That’s so cute Sadi wants to run!

I can appreciate time alone, it can recharge the battery’s for sure!

    Love ❤️You!

    Dad

    🙂

  2. I’m with you – May is probably my favourite of the months. There’s so much greenery and blossom around, and the days are getting longer.

It’s cool that Sadie wants to sell her cards! When I was a bit older than her (maybe 9 or 10) I used to make greetings cards and sell them in the local village store. I think they probably cost as much to make as I earned from them 😅 But I felt very grown-up!

I hope Dakota is on the mend now.

This month I have my birthday to celebrate and a trip to look forward to. I’ll be turning 32 in Corfu later in the month!

  3. I love that photo of Jimmy mowing the lawn! What a hard core dad.

I just bought this same brand of self tanner in lotion form. I used it a handful of years ago and I love it, but now I think I should have tried drops! I mix a tiny dab of the lotion with my own moisturizer so drops make much more sense! Next time. 🤪 good brand though, non toxic compared to other options. 🙌🏻

    1. Hahaha I will tell him that! He is so patient with Mordecai. Love it!

Isn’t that brand amazing?! It’s the only one I could find that was safe while pregnant and breastfeeding!!
