Happy April! Is the weather spring-like where you live? Pittsburgh has been rainy lately (to the point of flooding around the city… and our basement is wet 🫣). Hopefully all these April showers will bring May flowers?!

As always, here’s what’s current in my life this month 😊
Current books Risen Motherhood + the Guided Journal that goes with it. Sadie and I just finished The Princess and the Unicorn (while hanging out in the hot tub!) and are now onto this. Mordecai is loving Where’s the T. Rex?
Current food Steak. Jimmy and I grilled some the other day and it was really good! I also can’t get enough of this wild honey peanut butter.
Current drink Coffee! We’re going through a bag of Aldi coffee beans at the moment and they’re really good.The kids and I were at Starbucks doing school the other morning and were able to try the lavender oat milk chill. It gave me Fruity Pebbles vibes! Mordecai loved it, and Sadie said it was a 7 out of 10.
Currently looking forward to Warm weather and time outside ☀️
Current need For everyone in our family to be healthy! Poor Mordecai got an eye and ear infection and I’m pretty sure I got hit with the flu over the weekend. Whew. Praying Jimmy and Sadie don’t catch anything.
Current baked good Chocolate coffee cupcakes with coffee buttercream.
And apple pie! With flowers on top, because why not?!
Current goal Spring cleaning and organizing. Also, I want to plan something special for Jimmy’s birthday next month. I’m pretty confident he doesn’t regularly read my blog, so I don’t think he’ll see this haha. If you have any ideas, send them my way!
Current beauty product Really loving this wild dew treatment essence.
Current fun Hot tub time and campfires in the backyard with Sadie! Jimmy and I try to give her lots of one-on-one time when Mordecai goes to bed each night.
Current craving A night out with Jimmy. To be able to talk during dinner and not get up to get ketchup, clean up spilled juice, or tell someone to sit down sounds downright luxurious.
Current joy We had our first Friday night Bible study for the year at our house this past week and it was wonderful. There’s nothing like spending time with church family 🤍
Current excitement As I type up this post, we’re minutes out from the 2024 solar eclipse! The last one I blogged about was in 2017 and it was pretty neat.
Current pet product Just got Niva this puzzle to bring on her therapy visits! I think the kids we visit will get a kick out of her completing a puzzle 😬
Current kid product A life vest for Mordecai to use in our hot tub. This vest has given him so much confidence in the water. He’s also very obsessed with this truck.
Current laugh I went into Mordecai’s bedroom in the dark to feed him and sat on his rocking chair… except I was sitting on Malcolm (our black cat!). Another night, I saw a towel on the rocking chair so I went to pick it up… it was Malcolm again. Poor guy! He needs to find another place to sit 😂
Current cuteness Sadie at her first dentist appointment!

I love your “current posts”. It’s going to be so amazing for Sadie and Decky to go back and look at their childhood (and your teen and early marriage (BC) years). Your pics are so amazing – Sadie in the Dentist’s chair brings back (not so great) childhood memories for me :// Praying she is blessed with you and Jimmy’s teeth!! Spending “separate” time with Sadie is also so important. She adores her baby bro – but she also LOVES one on one time with mom and dad.
