Here’s a fun little countdown post! I did this style of post in 2014, 2016, and 2022.
Five Sweet Moments ❤️
1. Mordecai sleeping on the couch!
2. Sadie and her cousin playing with Polly Pockets. There’s something so sweet about little girls playing with dolls!
3. Mordecai using scissors! He loves to cut pages from this workbook and use these cool toddler scissors.
4. Jimmy reading Harry Potter to the kids.
5. Mordecai fell asleep sitting up in a Walmart shopping cart. I realized he’s asleep in almost all of the pictures of him in this post. 😂
Four Things We Did 🧑🧑🧒🧒
1. Played Trouble! Jimmy won.
2. Went to the podiatrist for the cyst under Sadie’s toe.
3. Got x-rays again. The podiatrist didn’t know what type of cyst Sadie has going on, so she has to have an ultrasound this week.
4. Went to Niva’s annual checkup! She’s healthy and doing great.
Three Winter Pictures 🥶
1. Our roads were so snowy for days after the big snowstorm.
2. My parents went to their house in the Outer Banks and got a ton of snow while there! This amount of snow is pretty unheard of along the coast of NC!
3. Even the beach access by their house had a good bit of snow.
Two Meals 🥩
1. A T-bone steak from a local farm with rice. I couldn’t believe the difference in flavor from local meat versus what we buy from the grocery store.
2. Our family friend and neighbor, Bernadette, gave us homemade bean soup and sourdough! I paired it with spicy chicken it and was the perfect warm meal on a cold night. Thank you, Bernadette!
One Recipe 👩🏼🍳
- I made sloppy joes today! I love how simple these are and you can’t beat a homemade sauce.
Other Notes and Thoughts 📝
- Almost overnight, Sadie started to care about her bedroom! She taped “decor” (coloring pages) on her walls and makes her bed of her own volition every day. 🛌
- Do you plan on watching the Super Bowl? If so, who are you rooting for? I’m cheering on the Seahawks solely because I want to visit Seattle someday. 😂 🏈
- We read Biscuit’s Valentine’s Day today. The kids took turn lifting the flaps and it was so sweet. ❤️

I actually was rooting for the Patriots for the Super Bowl – but we see now how that turned out. Congrats to the Seahawks!
