Outer Banks Scrapbook

I shared all of my thoughts from our time in the Outer Banks, but somehow I still have about a million pictures I’d like to share. Consider this post a little virtual scrapbook from our trip!

Outer Banks Scrapbook

Beach days, adventures, pretty views, and all the moments in between. Let’s flip through!

Toddler girl on the beach

Our little beach babe. Dakota enjoyed the sand and surf but especially loved seeing birds on the beach!

Kids outside with beach toys

These three were more than ready to catch ghost crabs on the beach! 🦀

Kill Devil Hills Beach at sunrise

The beach was so calm and peaceful in the early morning.

Mom and daughter doing bumper cars

Sadie was pretty hardcore with bumper cars!

Girl holding a Beanie Baby by claw machine

Sadie accomplished the seemingly impossible—she actually won a toy from a claw machine!

Toddler boy at splash pad

Splash pad bliss.

Kids at Sugar Planet in Kill Devil Hills, NC

Hanging out at a kids’ dream store—Sugar Planet.

Grandpa with toddler girl on his shoulders

Dakota with Pap Pap at Jockey’s Ridge State Park! We won’t talk about how Mordecai peed his pants there and I (not knowing this lovely fact) carried him on my back. 🥴🤣

Grandparents with grandkids at Jockey's Ridge State Park

Before Jimmy joined in on the vacation fun!

Girl leaning against turtle statue at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head, NC

Sadie girl hanging out with a sea turtle statue on Jennette’s Pier.

Mom and daughter on Jennette's Pier

My “Catch of the Day.” 🎣

Girl holding a ghost crab

Sadie was very into catching ghost crabs at the beach! She wasn’t afraid to pick them up. One night, we brought a bucket down to the beach and must have caught 15-20 little crabs!

Kids catching crabs on the beach in Nags Head, NC

Catching more crabs!

Dad and daughter on dinosaur float in pool

Jimmy and the kids had way too much fun with this float in the pool! 🦖

Family riding bikes and scooter

A little family (minus Dakota) bike and scooter ride! The roads are all blissfully flat in Kill Devil Hills.

Paints and seashells

Craft supplies are my idea of fun and relaxation. 😍

Toddler girl playing at Dowdy Park in Nags Head, NC

Dakota enjoyed running around and playing at Dowdy Park in Nags Head.

Kids burned in sand as mermaids

Our mer-man and mermaid. 🧜‍♀️

Dad and son on train ride at Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Mini Golf

Mordecai was proudly holding his mini golf ball in the above picture. Mini golf was a big hit with him! So much so that we ended up taking the kids twice! Jimmy beat me both times. 🙄

Dad and son on the beach in Kill Devil Hills, NC

Father-son fun in the sun. ☀️

Mom and daughter at Meowter Banks Cat Cafe in Kill Devil Hills, NC

Sadie loved, loved, loved Meowter Banks Cat Cafe!

Cats around girl at cat cafe

I loved, loved, loved it as well! 😻

Guy with fish on Avalon Pier

My dad and Jimmy caught fish on the Avalon Pier!

Kids in the ocean

We had quite a few calm ocean days and just one or two days with rip current warnings!

Girl in the ocean on a boogie board

Sadie was super into boogie boarding until she got tumbled by a wave and got water in her ear. Poor girlie!

Ford Raptor on beach

We enjoyed riding in the bed of Jimmy’s truck on the beach!

Grandpa and granddaughter boogie boarding in Atlantic ocean

Sadie and Pap Pap rode the waves together one day! Apart from Labor Day, the beaches weren’t overly busy. That’s one of the best reasons to visit the Outer Banks in September—the crowds are gone!

Bald Eagle in tree

I still can’t believe we saw a bald eagle!

Dad with daughter on his shoulders

Love these two so much! The kids really soaked in the extra time with Jimmy.

Beach in Kill Devil Hills NC in the morning

It was such a great trip!

Thanks for looking through my travel scrapbook with me! It will be back to regularly scheduled programming around here. Wish me luck getting back to reality. 😉
