Five things I’m thankful for today:
1. Sunshine
2. Coffee
3. God’s love
4. A bed to sleep in
5. Passion
Four random pictures from my life lately:
1. Spent time with one the best dogs in the whole wide world.
2. Spring has sprung!
3. & 4. Baked challah with my sister-in-law
Three things I want to do right now:
1. Garden
2. Travel
3. Give Lola a sibling
Two Bible verses I’m currently loving:
1. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
2. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1 (NIV)
One book I’m currently reading:
1. The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir by Patricia Harmon
Today I am thankful for days off and clean sheets on my bed. I am currently reading a book called “Lamb” and it’s a funny fiction novel about what Jesus’ teenage life must’ve been like according to his friend Biff. It is so cute, you would love it Allie!
Amen to days off and clean sheets! Those are some of the best things!! The book your reading sounds so interesting, haha!
That challah looks so good! I need to check out the book your’e reading (I’ve always loved your book lists, you have such great pics).
Thanks, Amy! It’s always so much fun to bake because it’s a beautiful bread, haha. And thanks for the compliments on my book lists and pictures!
Ah the master challah bread baker! Looks so good!
Hahah thank you, P!!
That bread! Yes. Do you like the book?
I still think you should give Lola a black cat sibling. Rue agrees. Kiki says Lola can have Rue.
Thanks, Amy! The book is pretty good. I have read a few other midwifery books and liked those better, though.
I agree with you on the whole giving Lola a sibling thing!! I am having animal fever right now, haha.
Ooooo challah! I used to have it all the time as a kid because my mom was Jewish (and is now Christian 🙂 ) and sent us to the JCC. Was it hard to make? I imagine the braid might be complicated!
We want to give Popcorn a sibling tooooooo! But we live in an apartment now, so until we take a step towards purchasing a home with more space it probably wont happen 😦
Wow, that’s so interesting!! I’m really, really happy to hear your mom is now a Christian! Woo hoo!! Challah isn’t too hard to make. If you know how to bake a loaf of bread, you can easily make Challah. For the braid, I do six strands and then do over two, under one… if that makes sense?! I bet there are Youtube videos out there showing how to braid it!
You’re the second blog I’ve read this morning that posted pics of freshly baked bread. I think this is a sign that I need to bake some. 😉 It looks SO good!!! I particularly love challah bread, so I wish I could reach into your picture and grab a piece. Ha, ha! Yum!!!
Hahaha thank you, Nicole!! I hope you got the chance to bake some bread!
“They should always pray and not give up…” I love that. What a great reminder! And from Jesus Himself. Thanks for sharing friend. 🙂
Also that challah bread… so delicious! It has been WAY too long since I last made it and Christopher was just saying this week that we should make it again soon!
Amen!! Thanks, Rach! I just love that verse and parable!
I hope you get a chance to make challah again soon!!
Your breads look fantastic!! I’m reading school books, and books about life! Nothing too exciting. 🙂
Thanks, Brittany!! I hope school is going well for you! 🙂
