Lots of baking happened this week and I loved it. I feel like my Etsy shop goes through phases. I have weeks where all I sell are brownies. Then suddenly, I’m in a granola phase where order after order is granola. It’s nice when things get switched up!
I had an order for pumpkin spice granola and had to smile at the fact that customers are into pumpkin spice in the middle of the summer. I love it, too! I’m not ready for fall, but I’ll take anything pumpkin-flavored all year!
I also fulfilled an order coconut almond granola (one of the first flavors in the shop!), cinnamon raisin granola, and peanut butter granola. If you’re ever looking for the recipe for the granolas I’m always mentioning, you can find them here!
Want to know something funny? I hated my granola during the first trimester of this pregnancy. I would bake orders and literally be so sad that it didn’t even seem the least bit appealing 😂
Now I see a tray of peanut butter granola and want to eat it all. It feels good to be back to normal 😜
I have been having a blast thrifting lately. I’m slowly working on building a wardrobe for our son, but I also find things for my nieces, nephews, other family members, Jimmy, Sadie, etc.
Sadie and I went to a Goodwill Outlet near us and scored big. Everything is sold by weight at an outlet store, but you have to dig through bins. It’s totally worth it to me. We brought home 15 items for $6.06, so each item was a whopping $0.40!
Among the items we got were clothes for baby boy, a couple of dresses for my mom, and a church shirt for Jimmy 😊
We were oohing and ahhing over how tiny the baby clothes were and that led to me telling Sadie about when she was a baby. We talked about how she didn’t sleep unless she was on someone’s chest for like the first two weeks of her life and I was thinking oh no, I almost forgot about that… we are in for it come November 😂 😴
I promise I’ve been doing more than thrifting and baking! Sadie and I went swimming in our neighbor’s pool and it was a fun little girls afternoon 💜
We’ve been to the library, played in the yard, read Sonic the Hedgehog books, visited the car wash, painted our nails, spent a day with my mom, and used Sadie’s Easy Bake Oven!
Do you like her outfit for going to the library? She always cracks me up with what she chooses to wear!
It’s Saturday night as I type up this post and we are ready for bed! Never mind that fact that it’s not even 8:00 pm. Sadie caught a cold and passed it on to Jimmy and I. We are so run-down! Yesterday I took a nap from 4-5 pm and Jimmy has been on the couch for most of the day. Poor guy 🤧
Hopefully we will all get over our summer sniffles before the Fourth of July so we can enjoy the festivities and fireworks!
Spending the day with you and Sadie was so much fun~ which also included thrifting!
I love that Sadie picks out her own little outfits~ Many times more than one in a day (or hour).
We plan on marching in the local 4th of July parade with our church, then heading to a picnic at Josh & Han’s. We will probably not attend any fireworks displays- as Brandy is so frightened of the sound that she shakes and pants so badly, so we will stay here with her and Reg 🥰
Love you!
P.s. Your granola is THE BEST!!!!!
Thanks for having us over! And for indulging me in thrifting 🙂
Have fun at the parade and picnic at Josh and Hannah’s! I hope Brandy does okay during the fireworks tonight!!
Thank you for the compliment on my granola! I love you ❤
Your granola is AMAZING! (I love that I can say that, for real, having been a customer before). 🙂 Sooooo good! Also I love that someone ordered pumpkin granola from you, because you know that I’m always up for that flavor. Yum!!
For us, July 4th officially kicks off summer; as we’re finally done our COVID quarantine. I’m SO ready for the summer activities to begin! 🙂
Awesome finds at the thrift shop!
Awww, thank you! And thanks for being a customer!!!! I knew your fall-loving heart would smile about the pumpkin granola 😉
YAY for being done with your quarantine from COVID. I hope you’re feeling better and get your taste back and can enjoy all the summer fun 🙂
The granola looks amazing! I’ll definitely try out the recipe.
Sorry you all have colds, I hope you’re feeling better now. I hear you re: taking naps. I got COVID on Monday and it really hit me by Wednesday. I spent 3 days napping and resting in bed. My energy is coming back now though. I lost my sense of taste and smell and it’s so strange, I miss tasting coffee! I think it’s also starting to slowly come back though, I’ve been sniffing things around the house like scented candles and perfume to keep testing myself haha.
Thank you, Grace!
I am so sorry you have COVID! I hope you can get all of your energy back ASAP. Losing your taste does not sound like fun, especially with not being able to smell or taste coffee. I can totally imagine you singing candles and perfume to test your sense of smell, hahaha. I heard there was a study that said people got their sense of smell back sooner from smelling strong essential oils frequently, so maybe you’re on to something!
Thank you. I’m getting better every day 🙂 Ooh I like essential oils, so I’ll have to give that a try!
Your granola really is so delicious! You do a great job. I love Sadie’s outfits and I love that you let her choose what to wear. It has never been a battle worth fighting for me to choose my kids’ clothes and I love seeing them express their personalities through what they wear.
Hope you’re feeling all better and were in time for the 4th!
Thank you so much! It always feels so good to hear compliments on my baking 🙂
I am with you on not wanting to fight the outfit battle with my child! It’s cool that they can express themselves through their outfits and it’s just a small thing to pick at, so I just let her have free reign (with some limits.. like the weather, ha).
There’s so much fun with thrifting! And baby clothes really are so tiny! Sadie is going to seem SO big when her little brother arrives!
I agree with everything you said!! She’s going to seem like a giant, lol!
