A Husky Party

So, we had a husky party at our house on Tuesday night and it was the best! Not one, two, or even three huskies showed up. Nope, we had eleven!

The whole party came about because a girl’s husky ran away, I found her and called her owner and the owner and I connected. We got together a few times with the pups and decided we needed to just have one big husky party.

So, we put out messages on nextdoor (a community website) and she contacted people on social media and we just had a bunch of random people we have never met bring their huskies over to play in our yard. I’m still smiling just thinking about it.

It was so fascinating to see all the variations in size and color of the dogs, their different personalities, and to hear about their antics, shedding, etc. I felt less alone in the craziness that is husky ownership 😉

What did Niva think? She was in her glory! She got along with all her new friends and had a blast running around like a wacko.

Our neighbors just stood on their porch and watched like what… is going on??! They just kept seeing more and more dogs come into our yard, LOL. They’re troopers. We actually talked to them today and they said it was a very entertaining evening.

We already can’t wait to have another husky party, though next time I hope we have even more new friends join us 😬

Are you a dog person?

  1. Yes I’m a dog person but you out number me. Glad to hear they all got along. And what did Sadi think of all this

    1. I don’t think I could ever our number you since we only have one dog! I don’t know how you do it AND do it all so well! Sadie was very interested in all the dogs and a little timid because she thought she would be knocked over, haha!

  2. You knowwwww I am a dog person, and I have to say I have never seen a dog party 😂😂 The idea of it is amazing, and I’m so glad you’re blessed enough with a huge ‘husky proof’ yard to offer a fun evening to all the local husky owners. I would t doubt if the media shows up to report on it (or the police 😂)

    1. Haha, yes you are! I loved always having a dog while growing up! I wish you could have came to the party. I’m sure you would have loved it. I am super glad we *finally* and hopefully husky-proofed our yard. WHEW!! Hopefully no police come for the next party… unless they bring a husky, LOL!

  3. Okay, so that is just the cutest thing!!! I am definitely a dog person, although I haven’t owned one since I was a young teen. What a fun event for all involved!! 🙂 Maybe next time, you might have to serve doggy cupcakes or something like that. Ha, ha!!!

    1. It was so much fun and totally adorable to see the fluff balls together! Maybe you guys will own a dog in the future when it’s a little easier with the kids being older?! Or not… because dogs are a lot of work, LOL!! Such a good idea to whip up some doggy cupcakes for the next gathering 😉

      1. I do LOVE dogs and Brady desperately wants one. Sadly, we’re the first house off a busy street, and we don’t have much of a yard. (It’s the one part that I don’t like about where we live…). So I feel like it’s not super dog friendly. If we ever moved though, I think a dog would definitely be in the plans though. So who knows!! 🙂

  4. This is so fun!!! Especially after so much away from people this last year 🙂 My friend found a local group of Golden Retrievers in Pittsburgh on Instagram that love to get together…we are moving back to Pittsburgh later this year and I can’t wait for Zeke to join in the fun. Dogs are the best!!!

    1. TRUTH! It was amazing to be around people again, ha! So neat your friend found a group of golden’s in Pittsburgh that get together! I am so happy you’re moving back to the ‘Burgh! We should get Zeke and Niva together sometime!!

  5. Wow, that’s such a fun idea! I’m definitely a dog person 🙂
I read an article recently which mentioned San Francisco had a Corgi Convention in 2019, with more than 1,000 corgis and their owners on the beach. So. Many. Dogs!
