weekend

Pictures from the Picnic

Our Independence Day shindig turned out to be quite the fun day! We had my parents, sister’s family and their dog, in-laws and their puppy, my cousin and her daughter, and a friend over for a cookout and it was a lovely day.

Jimmy and I prepped the house in the morning by cleaning, cooking, and getting the yard spruced up. Everyone came over in the afternoon and we grilled, chilled, and enjoyed watching the dogs and babies run around!

Just popping in to share some pictures so I can reflect on the fun, blessed day all over again 🙂

Jimmy and I were wiped. out. on Sunday. We went to church, cleaned up the house and yard, and then went back to church in the evening.

We did manage to sneak in a few frisbee tosses after Sadie went to bed on Sunday night, which felt like the perfect way to end the weekend.

Tell me about your weekend!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day to all of my U.S. friends and happy Monday to everyone! Jimmy and I have today off of work, so we’ve had a pretty relaxed morning (aside from Mavis waking us up at 4:00 AM to go to the bathroom ;)).

We just walked inside from our garden, which is nearing its end. Sad! We picked some San Marzano tomatoes, swiss chard, green beans, and a zucchini.

I’m currently eating pumpkin spice Cheerios because I found them at Target the other day! I had them for the first time last year and really enjoyed them.

I also grabbed some Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea (if you haven’t tried this, I highly recommend it!) and popped into Bath and Body Works to get my mother-in-law a candle and wallflowers for her birthday.

You know how I mentioned my family thinks my name should be Daisy instead of Allie? Well, my parents went on vacation to the Outer Banks last week and picked up a hat for me from the local Life is Good store because they said it reminded me of them. Thanks mom and dad 🙂

Speaking of the Outer Banks, my brother and sister-in-law also went with my parents on vacation and brought their two retrievers, Jax and Moses. My brother sent me this picture and I just love it! They look so happy 🙂

It was a little chilly here in Pittsburgh this morning and Mavis was hanging out in the kitchen with me and fell asleep. She was shivering in her sleep, so I covered her with a kitchen towel. Five minutes later, Malcolm woke her up and somehow ended up with the towel, ha!

It’s so weird to think that Mavis will be bigger than Malcolm soon!

Well, I better get my day started. Jimmy and I are taking Mavis to her puppy training class today!
