Happy Labor Day to all of my U.S. friends and happy Monday to everyone! Jimmy and I have today off of work, so we’ve had a pretty relaxed morning (aside from Mavis waking us up at 4:00 AM to go to the bathroom ;)).
We just walked inside from our garden, which is nearing its end. Sad! We picked some San Marzano tomatoes, swiss chard, green beans, and a zucchini.
I’m currently eating pumpkin spice Cheerios because I found them at Target the other day! I had them for the first time last year and really enjoyed them.
I also grabbed some Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea (if you haven’t tried this, I highly recommend it!) and popped into Bath and Body Works to get my mother-in-law a candle and wallflowers for her birthday.
You know how I mentioned my family thinks my name should be Daisy instead of Allie? Well, my parents went on vacation to the Outer Banks last week and picked up a hat for me from the local Life is Good store because they said it reminded me of them. Thanks mom and dad 🙂
Speaking of the Outer Banks, my brother and sister-in-law also went with my parents on vacation and brought their two retrievers, Jax and Moses. My brother sent me this picture and I just love it! They look so happy 🙂
It was a little chilly here in Pittsburgh this morning and Mavis was hanging out in the kitchen with me and fell asleep. She was shivering in her sleep, so I covered her with a kitchen towel. Five minutes later, Malcolm woke her up and somehow ended up with the towel, ha!
Well, I better get my day started. Jimmy and I are taking Mavis to her puppy training class today!
Oh my gosh those tomatoes!!!! Haha, but sounds like a lovely morning to start of Labor Day. I have to work today but I have at least an hour for a coffee break and catching up on blogs 🙂
All of those tomatoes are still staring at me and I don’t know what to do with them!! Yay for a coffee break and catching up on blogs! Hope your Labor Day was awesome, P!
I’ve always considered trying that tea! What’s the flavor like? I picture something sweet so I’m hesitant of trying it. I love the picture of Mavis with the towel, so dang cute!!
The flavor is lovely, but it is a bit sweet! Thanks for the compliment on Mavis! She’s sleeping at my feet right now 🙂
I am more than ready for Fall and pumpkin spice things, but those tomatoes look amazing! I love fresh produce from gardens- it tastes so much better than stores. I wish we could have the summer perks but the Fall weather ;). I haven’t had pumpkin spice cheerios but think I might try to find that tea because I want some warm drinks for when it does cool off. Hope you guys enjoyed the day and the puppy training class went well.
Same here! I am like in limbo with loving our garden and summer, but at the same time craving pumpkin! I hope you get a chance to try the tea! It’s delicious!! The puppy class went great! She is now learning “down” and “leave it.” 🙂
On September 1st I made my first PSL of the season. I want to try all the lattes this year and I get them for free at work so there’s no excuse.
I honestly love fall, but hope this early cool weather doesn’t mean a long winter…eek!
Awww, yay for PSL! I’m so jealous you get them for free at work! I am sooo hoping we don’t have a long winter!
DAISY~ I’m so glad you like your new hat!! It’s perfect on you 😊 Mavis and Malcolm seem like typical siblings ~ constantly picking on one another (sound familiar?)
I’m glad she’s doing so well at her puppy training classes too- she’s such a cutie.
What in the world are you doing with all those tomatoes 😂
We’ll have to get a pumpkin coffee together soon! Love you beautiful,
Madre ❤️
Thank you for my hat, mom! I love it! I literally have no clue what I’m going to do with the tomatoes. I need to pass some off to you when we go and get a pumpkin coffee together! I love you too!!
I also love the hat! Anything daisy makes me think of You’ve Got Mail, because daisies are “the friendliest flower” and I agree. Glad you had a nice Labor Day weekend and I’m also curious about how you’ll ever use all those tomatoes!
Thanks, Madeline!! I literally have no idea what I’m going to do with the tomatoes! Any ideas?!
So Cute!
Thanks, Dad!
I am sooooooooooo ready for fall! So, so, SO ready!!!!! Ha, ha!
This post was so much fun, by the way. I love that tea too and can’t wait to pick some up.
We have been having fall-like weather here in Pittsburgh, so I bet it’s even more fall-ish up by you! I’m sure you are loving that!!
You guys and your garden! I’m always impressed with that! Are you already planning next year’s garden?
I’ve heard other people say that they like those Pumpkin Spice Cheerios too. Yay for fall-inspired things! 🙂
Thanks!! And oh yeah!!! We have been thinking about what we would do differently, want to plant next year, etc.!
The Cheerios are delish! I am so excited to see all the fall-flavored things hitting the shelves! Not ready to let go of summer just yet, but I enjoy all things pumpkin, so why not!
