Five Thoughts and Five Favorites

Hey hey! Hope everyone has had a great weekend! I’m comin’ at ya today with a few random thoughts and favorite things as of late!

Five random thoughts and musings for today:

  1. Do you think whoever invented bug repellant spray was like I think I’ll make it smell so weird that even bugs will fly away?
  2. When I finish a phone call with my family I always say “Bye, love you!” and I was *this close* to saying it to the barista at the Starbucks drive through the other day 😳
  3. Sadie kept asking for maggots the other day, and it turned out she wanted magnets 😂
  4. What is your comfort food? Mine is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or anything my mom cooks/bakes.
  5. I was reading this scripture about how our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and I was like whoa, it makes so much sense. We worship in temples (our bodies), we don’t worship the temple.

A few favorites:

Babka shaped into a round

Baking cinnamon babka! I made it on a whim this week and I’m so glad I did. Love it!

What My Pets and Child Have Taught Me About Life

Have you ever heard the theory that each child you have teaches you something different about life? I think it’s so true, and I also think it’s true with each pet you own. I was driving (actually, I was sitting in classic Pittsburgh traffic 😂) and thinking about this and knew I had to blog about it!

So, let’s start with my the first dog I owned, Lola.

She was legendary! My dad and I went to the humane society and picked her out together for my 14th birthday and she saw me through every major life change after that–middle school, high school, college, marriage, buying a home, adopting a cat, adopting a puppy, and having a child. She was a black lab mixed with a pit bull and very gentle and sweet.
