Jimmy and I went to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for a one-night stay and we blown away by the experience. I didn’t know this, but apparently The Bachelor was recently filmed there. I’ve never seen the show, but the roses that filled the lobby were beautiful!
We arrived on Friday night and stayed until Saturday afternoon and it was truly just the perfect getaway.
It came at just the right time, too. As we were driving, I was on the phone with Sadie’s doctor because some of her test results came back abnormal again and they referred us to a kidney specialist. It has been a stressful past couple of months, and to be able to take time to relax with Jimmy in such a beautiful setting was a huge blessing and just what I needed.
We were all about relaxation, so we did room service for dinner and both agreed it was literally the best meal we’ve ever had. Jimmy ordered an elk steak and I had salmon 😍
We wandered around the sprawling resort, went bowling, played in the kids’ arcade, and stopped at their ice cream shop.
The workers were so nice, accommodating, and more than happy to offer recommendations or help in any way.
We capped off the night by going back to our room and being surprised by the turndown service. There were slippers by the bed and cookies on the nightstand. I could get used to that!
We watched our current favorite tv show, Battle Bots, and then hit the hay.
The next morning, we grabbed breakfast (a breakfast sandwich for Jimmy and a coconut chia parfait for me!) at the resort’s coffee shop and meandered around some more before stopping at one of their gift shops.
I was admiring the jewelry in one of the shops and Jimmy was like “Pick something!” so I got a new necklace and I haven’t taken it off since, lol. Every time I see it, I’m reminded of our little trip and I’m happy all over again 😊
We headed home to relieve my mom (the real MVP of the weekend) of these two crazies. They just look guilty, don’t they? 😜
And to get back to our sweetie pie who was totally spoiled by my mom and somehow looked older to me even though we were gone for less than 24 hours?!
It was good to get away and it was good to come home feeling refreshed and ready to dive back into life with responsibilities, wild pets, and a toddler. What a blessing. All of it! ❤️
Awwww, I love that you were able to get away for a night!! The place looks absolutely beautiful! Getting away together is just so important when you’re a parent, so I’m glad you could do that.
Praying for Sadie, as I know that these types of things are sooooo hard on a mama’s heart.
Agreed, getting away together as a parent is so necessary! I don’t think I realized how much we needed that trip until we went! Thank you so, SO much for praying for Sadie ❤
Wow that resort stay sounds amazing! Cookies on the nightstand…that’s serious service right there!
It was so over the top and luxurious! Cookies on the nightstand was just epic!
I just love your attitude about everything! Such a positive outlook on life!
I Love You!
