Resurrection Sunday

Resurrection Rolls and Cat Hugs

Have you ever heard of Resurrection rolls? I hadn’t until this year, but they’re such a fun way to teach kids about the reason we celebrate Easter. They’re meant to symbolize the burial and resurrection of Christ.

They’re made by dipping a marshmallow in melted butter. It’s then rolled in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar and wrapped up in a crescent roll. When it bakes, the marshmallow disappears (melts). The marshmallow represents Jesus’ body and the crescent dough represents the tomb he was buried in. (more…)

Catching Up and Growing Up

I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever! Life has been extra full lately. Some of the fun stuff we have going on:

  • We’re hosting Friday night Bible studies at our house for the next several weeks.
  • Jimmy and I are taking a marriage class together.
  • I’m helping to get a homeschool co-op started for the beginning of next school year.
  • I’m studying and preparing a Bible study for the mom’s group at our church.
  • We’ve been bringing Jimmy’s step sister to church with us!

Add to that list the usual stuff I do: real estate work, homeschooling Sadie, caring for our five month old baby, housekeeping, laundry, and cooking. No wonder blogging has fell to the wayside a bit lately!
