Catching Up and Growing Up

I feel like I haven’t blogged in forever! Life has been extra full lately. Some of the fun stuff we have going on:

  • We’re hosting Friday night Bible studies at our house for the next several weeks.
  • Jimmy and I are taking a marriage class together.
  • I’m helping to get a homeschool co-op started for the beginning of next school year.
  • I’m studying and preparing a Bible study for the mom’s group at our church.
  • We’ve been bringing Jimmy’s step sister to church with us!

Add to that list the usual stuff I do: real estate work, homeschooling Sadie, caring for our five month old baby, housekeeping, laundry, and cooking. No wonder blogging has fell to the wayside a bit lately!

Living my best mom life over here!

This space is one of my most favorite things, though. Writing and sharing helps me process my life and I love connecting with everyone who reads and comments. I don’t think I could ever stop!

While life has been busy lately, I can literally feel myself growing and stretching as a person. My sister texted me the other day and said she was proud of me for stepping out of my comfort zone in so many ways lately.

It’s true; I’ve been out of my comfort zone the past few weeks and will continue to be for at least the next couple of months. I am not one to overload my schedule and it feels really overloaded right now.

I don’t like to feel like I’ve dropped the ball on little things, but that has happened because other more important things are going on. I’m not one to do a lot of social activities and I’ve been doing a ton of socializing recently. It’s not always comfortable, but it’s always good.

So, yeah. I’m growing up a little lately. You’re never too old to grow, learn, and change! It feels good to work hard at things that you feel passionate about, you know?

Enough about me growing up. Let’s catch up! We celebrated Easter by going to church on Sunday morning, as always. Celebrating Jesus’ resurrection is so special as a Christian.

The day before Easter, we hung out with my sister’s family at her house. Five kids ages four and under is so much fun. Total chaos and joy!! The best part for me was catching up with my sister.

She’s one of the very best people I know. She works so hard, is committed to God and her family, and loves on everyone she comes into contact with. I hope to be like her when I fully grow up 😜

Sisters feeding babies together

I love that we choose to feed our babies differently and have only respect for each other. She has zero interest in breastfeeding and I am completely clueless about bottle feeding. We’re always like how do you do it?!

We also made a cute little Peeps dessert. The bottom was a layer of pudding, the “dirt” was crushed Oreos, and then it was topped with bunny Peeps and chocolate eggs. Super easy and fun for the kids (and adults 😊).

My cousin from New York came to Pittsburgh for a few days, so we made a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo!

We actually have season passes this year (Jimmy’s sister gave us them for Christmas 😍), so I’m hoping to go more as the weather is warming up here in the ‘Burgh.

Other fun things from life lately have included being outside as much as possible, reading, and starting to feed Mordecai baby food! More on all of that in another post, though. This one is long enough!

Have you done anything outside of your comfort zone lately?

  1. Whoa! You have been stepping out so proud of you! They say if you want to get something done give it to someone who is busy! And you certainly have been busy!

  2. YES, I definitely have been stretched a lot over the past year or so, and it’s wonderful to look back and to see how God has grown me. I love that God continues to grow us, use us, and strengthen us. You’re amazing!! 🙂
