Five months with Mordecai! Here’s how our little guy is growing and living his best life at five months.

Growth 15 lbs 12 oz and 25 inches.

Wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Eating Mom’s milk and baby food! He was showing us signs that he was ready to try purees and he’s loving ’em. His first food was applesauce. He’s also had banana, sweet potato, rice cereal, green beans, peanut butter puffs, and corn. His favorite so far is sweet potatoes!

Also, we tried to give him a bottle of pumped milk for the first time and it was a fail, lol. Just like Sadie was as a baby, he won’t take a pacifier or bottle.

Personality He’s the best little guy! Very go-with-the-flow, happy, chill, and easy to please.

Nicknames Decky. We started calling him “Mordecky,” which just got shortened into Decky!

Sleeping Still waking up quite a few times in the night to eat. He usually naps three times in the day anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.

Looks Like Me and Sadie. Occasionally he’ll make a face that looks like Jimmy, lol. His eyes are blue and his hair is light at the moment.

New Skills Grabbing everything, playing with rattles, and sitting up better with support. He coos more, laughs, moves and wiggles constantly.

Likes Sadie, our pets, sucking his thumb, toys, bath time, nursing, being held facing out, eye contact, and his play mat.

Dislikes Being put in his carseat, being set down, clothes going over his head, being startled by loud noises, feeling cold, being overly tired, and being hungry.

Favorite products Bumbo floor seat, Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit, portable sound machine, rattle, carrier, bibs, and play gym.

Other notes Still working on figuring out any food intolerances with his milk/soy protein intolerance (MSPI) because he still has blood in his stools if I’m not careful with what I eat. His physical therapy for arm weakness is going well, and he is beginning to drool a bit. He also visited the Pittsburgh Zoo for the first time 😊
