Valentine’s Day Ideas + The Past Few Days

It’s Valentine’s Day week! I’m still not 100% sure what we’re doing to celebrate, but I have a few ideas 🙂

-Make themed treats, cards, and crafts to give to family and friends
Family gift exchange: set a price limit ($10 or less) and draw a name out of a hat and buy a small gift for that person
-Cook a special meal, order takeout, or go out to eat (We did this in 2017 and 2018!)
-Watch a fun movie

Recipe ideas:
Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers
Crepes
Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo
Raspberry Trifle (<– such a pretty dessert!)
Triple Chocolate Nutella Cookies
Honey Cinnamon Dog Treats for your pup!

The past few days have been full and fun. We went rollerblading on Saturday evening and had a great time with family and friends. Watching Sadie slip and slide around on tiny toddler-sized skates was pretty much the best. (more…)

Picnic Lunch + Something I Haven’t Done In Years

I think we finally figured out the whole I-don’t-want-to-nap-or-sleep thing with Sadie: the two year sleep regression. Not fun! If any parents out there have tips… or coffee… or sanity they can lend out, let me know 😉

In the meantime, you’ll probably find me in Sadie’s crib trying to get her to sleep or chugging coffee, and I will admit I have done both of those at the same time, lol.

We had a little picnic outside on Friday afternoon. I packed Sadie a lunch and she ate it on top of her swing set and thought that was the coolest.

I love those little moments so much ❤

On Saturday I did something I haven’t done in years: I ran a 5k! Longtime readers of this blog might remember me doing all sorts of running back in the day. I very rarely run nowadays, but my mom wanted to do a 5k together so we signed up.

We ran the Harvest Moon Race in Pittsburgh and whew was it a tough course! I ran the 10 mile race in 2011 and must have forgot about the hills when I signed up this year, lol. Also, it was cold.

My mom and I had such a great time and I’m really glad we were able to do that together. She’s already trying to get me to sign up for the 5k we watched her and my dad run in December last year 😉

What’s one thing you haven’t done in years?
