What We’ve Been Up to Lately

Hello and happy Sunday! Somehow we are in the double digits of December. We’ve been up to all sorts of fun lately. I have lots of pictures to share, so let’s dive in.

Girl and baby boy at gymnastics gym

I brought the kids to gymnastics free play and we all had a great time. It’s an easy way to get some of their energy out and get them out of the house on chilly or rainy days. Someday I’ll go to the adult class and get back to my gymnastics roots.

We’ve also been doing story time at the library a few times a week. I never bring my phone in, but I wish I did on the day that Mordecai sat on Sadie’s lap for story time. Sweetest thing ever!

Baby boy in front of Christmas tree

Mordecai got the cutest outfit at his birthday party! We took his picture in front of the Christmas tree and planned on having him wear it to church… but he had a blowout before we left. That’s the way the cookie crumbles with babies!

Mom driving with daughter

We had co-op this week. It continues to be a great experience for us. Sadie enjoys her classes, Mordecai gets to hang out with other babies, and I get to spend time with other homeschool moms.

caterpillar baby clothes

My mom and I went thrift shopping with the kids and I found these brand new Caterpillar outfit sets for Mordecai. I couldn’t resist getting them because they were $7 and Jimmy works with Caterpillar equipment often. We also scored Sadie a new (well, new to her lol) winter jacket and snow boots.

Baby boy sitting in giraffe chair and sucking thumb

Here’s the little thumb sucker in his new outfit! He is getting close to walking on his own. He uses furniture to get around and loves pushing toys to walk.

Mom and daughter making gingerbread house

The kids and I made the trek out to my parents’ house this week and had fun hanging out. Sadie and I made a gingerbread house together. She is so creative with stuff like that!

Baby boy and big sister in Aldi shopping cart together

The kids rode in an Aldi shopping cart together. It’s cute seeing them do things like this!

We drove around our neighborhood this weekend and saw Christmas lights. There’s a house near us that has their lights tuned to a Christmas radio station. It’s neat seeing it each year.

Candy cane cupcakes

I worked on an order for candy cane cupcakes for my business! They’re so festive and fun to make.

Girl in wrap shirt

Another thrift store find! I was so excited to score a shirt I can nurse Mordecai in. I wore it to church today! My necklace is a key that Jimmy gave me for Christmas when we were dating. I remember I was in college when he gave it to me and we were at the point in our relationship where it wouldn’t be out of the question that he would propose. He gave me a jewelry box for Christmas and I remember my heart was pounding as I opened it! It was that necklace, lol. I’m glad he proposed the way he did. It was very special!

Baby crawling after dog dish

Sadie loves using the camera on my phone. She had it last night and took this picture, aka the most “us” picture ever. Mordecai crawling towards Niva’s water dish while Jimmy frantically tries to grab it 😂

Dad and daughter selfie

After the Mordecai picture, she took a selfie with Jimmy. It turned out really cute!

Close up of Siberian husky laying on floor

She also captured a close up of Niva. Jimmy always says it looks like she’s wearing eyeliner. He’s not wrong 🤷‍♀️

Chalk board with Exodus 4:12

Jimmy and I are teaching the elementary Bible school class at church for the month of December. I have really been enjoying studying the lesson and teaching this age group!

Well, that about sums up life lately! I am off to Niva’s therapy dog test this afternoon. Ahh, I’m so nervous! Hopefully all goes well. If not, we can always re-test in the future 😊

What have you been up to lately?

What would a “you” photo look like?

  1. Glad to see you’ve been having a great time and getting up to all sorts of fun things 😊 I can’t believe Christmas is just around the corner now!

Mordecai looks so smart in his shirt and trousers outfit. My nephew Rafael, who’s 5, loves wearing outfits like that. He says his styles are either a “cool dude” – by which he means jogging trousers/lounge wear – or a “smart boy” (shirts and trousers). The things he says make me laugh so much 😂

Recent photos from my life would be lots of snuggles with Aimee and pics of some new recipes I’m cooking.

Good luck with Niva’s test! I look forward to reading your updates next time 😊

    1. I can’t believe it either! It seems like it comes up faster and faster each year.

I am cracking up at Rafael’s comments! Age five has proven to be so fun. It’s like they have their own thoughts more and more, but also no filter yet. So they say some funny stuff!

Snuggles with Aimee and cooking new recipes sounds delightful!

Thank you for the good luck wishes on Niva’s test… She passed! Woo hoo!

      1. Thank you so much! I’m open to volunteering anywhere! The trainers said Niva might be a good fit with college students because she’s a family large dog (63 pounds/28 kilos) and likes to lay on the ground to be pet. It may be hard for someone in a care home to bend down to pet her, but I guess we never know till we try!

  2. HI!! It has been too long since I caught up here and your babies are so big! Good to see that things are going so well for your fam!

  3. I am trying to keep up around the house, and getting healthier (slowly but surely). This sickness sure did kick yaya’s butt.
A pic of me lately would probably look a little frazzled – as always.
I love the pic of Deck in front of the tree – def one of my faves – always smiling!! Sadie smiles non-stop too – so she’s a great example to him!
