How We Celebrated Mother’s Day

My first Mother’s Day as a mom of two is in the books! Jimmy and the kids made it really special in all the ways that I appreciate.

We started our celebrations on Saturday with coffee! Jimmy and Sadie picked up Starbucks and gave me new coffee beans to try out.

My mother-in-law watched Sadie for a few hours that morning and they came back with flowers and a balloon for me. So sweet!

Having Sadie out of the house gave me time to work on a few baking orders for Mother’s Day cupcakes. I made cinnamon vanilla cupcakes with cinnamon vanilla buttercream.

It made my heart so happy to be baking and creating. Once Sadie got home in the afternoon, we went to a local pottery shop to paint ceramics.

Jimmy planned this out and I loved it so much! Doing anything artsy is pretty much my love language, so I was one happy girl.

Once we finished up painting, we headed home so a customer could pick up cupcakes. We had dinner, went on a family walk, and played Go Fish on our backyard patio.

It was perfect. I got to spend the day doing some of my favorite things with my favorite people and felt so loved.

Sunday was filled with more coffee, church, and lots of playtime outside in the sunny, 75 degree weather.

I have so many thoughts on motherhood. Mostly, gratitude. I can’t believe God has given Jimmy and I two children to raise in Him. I pray I can do a good job and help them feel loved every single day.

How did you celebrate Mother’s Day?

I was power washing a ton of stuff at the beach house- so my Mother’s Day was quite uneventful.
