A Less Scary Snowman + Saturday Happenings

The morning stated out with coffee and my Bible. The best combo out there. I’m still studying the birth of Jesus in Luke and really enjoying it.

To make up for Sadie’s snowman fear, we made a less scary snowman together.

That’s her “smile!” face, haha. So cute. Also, she chose her outfit again and this time it was pajamas + a rain jacket 🙂

Our Saturday included family snuggle time in our bed in the morning, then in Sadie’s bed after her nap. If you look close enough, you can spot Malcolm nestled up to Sadie.

Jimmy and I also enjoyed Starbucks coffee, he went to a Nerf battle at our church, and I got some reading in during Sadie’s nap.

I’m almost done with this book and it has been engrossing. Up next is this, which I’m excited to dive into! Me + a book = happiness 🙂

Our neighbors stopped by and gave Sadie an Elsa doll as a Christmas gift this afternoon and she hasn’t let it out of her sight since then. We have truly been blessed with the most wonderful neighbors.

Sadie’s new doll inspired her and Jimmy to watch Frozen II this evening while I got some real estate work done and folded laundry.

And that takes us to now. I need to coax Niva out of the snow (she’s literally sleeping outside… living the husky life) and into the house and then I’m going to try and squeeze in more reading before we hit the hay!

Tell me about your Saturday!

  1. Awwww, that sounds like such a lovely Saturday! I adore her smile in the picture of her holding up the snowman craft. Too cute!!!
Our Saturday was nice. We exchanged presents with Nate’s parents as we won’t be able to see them on Christmas due to COVID. This year is definitely different, but so many beautiful moments mixed in with the crazy. I love that we can still find joy and SO many reasons to be thankful!

    1. It was a great day! Her smile with the snowman craft is just so sweet! I feel like I will be cherishing that picture for years to come!

I’m glad you were able to exchange gifts with Nate’s parents. Sorry you won’t be able to see them on Christmas Day, though! You’re so, so right. We have a million reasons to be thankful and joyful despite the tough times!

  2. All of you at nap time is so precious!! And Sadie with her doll is so sweet ❤
As it was Shabbat, my sat involved lovely Torah study. Also: an icy stroll (MN surprisingly is not covered in snow, but did get some rain that froze), a gentle but wonderful asana practice, knitting, and delicious roasted veggies.

    1. It was a cozy time in her little bed, haha! She is so attached to that doll already. It’s too sweet!!

Yay for your Torah study on Shabbat! It sounds like you had a nice day. A walk + asana + knitting + veggies sounds like a cozy, relaxing day!

  3. Oh my goodness, I just read the synopsis for Almost Gone and WOW. I’ve never heard this story! How wild. What did you think of the book?

I’m glad snowmen have been at least a little redeemed for Sadie! Between the cute one you two made and Olaf! 🙂
