How I the world is it AUGUST!? Not allowed! Not sure how it’s the last full month of summer but I’m determined to make it a good one!
We’ve got a busy month on deck with a wedding, birthdays, and more. Here’s what’s current in my life this month. Please share yours in the comments!
Current books During my Bible study time, I’m reading Ecclesiastes. My current novel is The Love Haters by Katherine Center and my nonfiction read is Raising a Sensory Smart Child. Sadie and I love reading through this Axolotl field guide and Mordecai has been enjoying this interactive garbage truck book. With all of the kids, I’ve been reading books about children with birthmarks, including Toto and Lia’s Kind Mind.
Current food We’ve been grilling ribeye steak once or twice a week and this seasoning is so good on it!
Current drink Loving Starbucks Sunsera coffee beans and also ginger ale! Sometimes a crisp, cold soda is so nice on a hot summer day.
Current baked good Pizzelles, cheesecake, stroopwafels, and mini cannoli bites! I recently had a baking order for classic anise pizzelles and it has been fun to use my new pizzelle maker! I am planning on doing all sorts of fun things next (waffle bowls, cannoli, and more!) with it. I also had a fun idea to make lactation granola.
Current blessing Summertime. Loving the sunshine, warmth, daylight, and relaxed pace of life 🫶
Current cuteness These three sweeties!
Current goal Doing a few activities on our summer bucket list! Sadie has been asking to go swimming and Mordecai wants us to take him fishing so we need to make those things happen soon!
Current joy Embracing life as it is in this season. Caring for three little ones can be exhausting and challenging, but also so special and fun.
Current laugh Mordecai wearing his bike helmet. He’s a hoot with that thing. It looks so hardcore and he’s the most gentle, sweet little guy 😂
Current mood Inspired. I’ve been having so many ideas for baking lately and finding a lot of joy in dreaming up recipes and flavor combinations.
Current kid product A U.S. map puzzle! This is a fun little geography lesson and toy all in one for my puzzle-loving Sadie girl.
Current beauty product A citrus-scented hair perfume.
Current craving I’d love to go thrift shopping! I haven’t done that in quite some time.
Current fun We took the kids to a park and Dakota sat in a swing for the first time. She loved it!
Current need A restock on my favorite hair product!
Current excitement So many fun things this month: we’re going to a wedding, my nephew’s birthday party, and planning on attending Rock the Quarry again!
Current blessing Almost six months with Dakota. She’s so sweet 🥹
Current home product This plant craft kit. I can’t wait to sit down and craft and then have some home decor when I’m finished. A win-win!
Current procrastination I have a few closets and spaces in our home I need to go through and organize!
Current indulgence Goofing around with baking when I should be doing household tasks like those organizing projects 😉
Current obsession Studying Ecclesiastes! I so look forward to my Bible time each morning and I’m really enjoying this specific book. Lots of wisdom and practical application.
Current scripture “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:2
Current confession I pumped and we tried to get Dakota to take a bottle… and it was a fail haha. We tried two different bottles, too. Darn!

Sadie and Mordecai were so excited to try and feed Dakota a bottle. I think they’ll have better luck with baby food at this point 😆
