Hi! I hope everyone has been having a great start to 2022! We finally got some snow here in Pittsburgh. It was the perfect opportunity to get out Sadie’s sled. Note to self: get Sader Tot some snow boots ASAP!
How is the weather where you live?
I added a few new things to my Etsy shop for the new year: cherry almond granola, chocolate covered Oreos, and white chocolate Oreo bark.
I have no shortage of ideas and plans for more items, I just need more time. I’ve had a few neat opportunities for my shop lately (catering a destination wedding with challah, a cafe asked to stock my granola, etc.!) but I know my limits. Or Jimmy knows them and helps to remind me of them 😂
Speaking of baking, I was asked to make a Boy Scout-themed cake and cupcakes. That was fun! I always get a little nervous with cakes because I’m not super confident with ’em, but the more I push myself out of my comfort zone, the more practice I get!
I always think that if I could go back in time when choosing a college major I maybe would have wanted to become a Certified Nurse Midwife or a Pastry Chef. But hey, who knows what the future holds, right?! I’m glad I went to school for journalism, though, because I absolutely adore writing and always have a book idea or two floating around my brain 😬
Okay, enough of my rambling! Jimmy went to an overnight conference with a few men from our church this week and Sadie and I missed him a ton. We kept busy by going to the library, getting coffee, and playing!
Coffee dates with Sadie are one of my favorite things lately. I love the focused time with her and the caffeine boost ☕️
Hmmm, what else can I ramble about in this post? Sadie has been quite the daddy’s girl lately. I love seeing their relationship continue to grow and blossom.
It’s a beautiful thing to have Jimmy be so involved with our daughter. He is a really great dad!
Alright, I am going to end this post here! I have some baking to do 😊
I’m stoked for the opportunities coming your way with your Etsy shop. That boyscout cake is adorable. I’d want one for my birthday just as a lover of the outdoors!
Ahh, thank you so much, Brittany!! I didn’t even think of how the cake would appeal to an outdoor lover as well! Maybe Duncan will make it for your next birthday 😉 ❤
The cake and cupcakes are just SO perfect!!!! Love them!
And I know the struggle with keeping limits… 😉 My struggle has been ongoing for SO many years, it’s why I’m actually blogging pretty much solely about it this year to hold me accountable. Ha, ha. Nate is really good at reminding me to not overdo it, and I’m learning what to say “yes” to… and what to save for the future. 😉
Also, I always forget that you have a journalism degree, just like me!! 🙂
Thank you sooo much!! It really is so, SO easy to say yes to things are are good… but maybe not good for us in the stress department, haha. It’s a good thing we have men in our lives that love us and help us see the forest from the trees!
YES!!! Amen to that! 🙂
Those cupcakes and the cake are sooooo well done. Seriously – you are really talented with the baking.
That snow looks so fun! Sadie looks like she’s having a blast.
Hit send too soon! That is so exciting that you’ve had some good opportunities come up with your Etsy shop. I’m not surprised. I really admire you for knowing what your current chapter will allow in terms of how far to stretch yourself and what to commit to. That is a very important skill to have! Just placed an order!
