Cake, Cousins, and Celebrations

This past week held a little bit of everything: birthday candles blown out on two different nights, cousins filling the house with noise and laughter, rainbow sprinkles all over the counters, homeschool lessons squeezed between celebrations, and three huskies tromping through our muddy yard.

It wasn’t a quiet week or perfectly planned, but it was full in the very best way. It was the kind of week that reminds me how quickly time passes and how grateful I am for our family. Here’s a little look at our week with cake, cousins, and all the celebrations in between! (more…)

A Day at The Pittsburgh Zoo, Outdoor Homeschooling, and Thinking About Fall

For our family, this week has been all about soaking up the last bits of summer before the (unofficial) arrival of fall. We spent a lovely day at the Pittsburgh Zoo, homeschooled outside as much as possible, and I’ve started thinking about the next season and what we’d like to do and focus on!

The weather in Pittsburgh has been cooling off and the season is definitely shifting. While I’m sad to see summer start to make its exit, I’m looking forward to the coming months and all the joy I know they will bring. I can’t control the seasons (I’d make it summer forever 😉), I can control my attitude towards change and enjoy life in every season.
