Taking three kids and a hyper husky to the vet went better than I expected!
Niva got her vaccines and the kids were angels. Don’t be fooled, though. I took them to the grocery store a couple of days later and one of them (accidentally?) hit their mini shopping cart into the back of my heel 😂 Ya win some and ya lose some!
Hello from Dakota in Sadie’s hand-me-down shirt! Want to see baby Sadie wearing it? See below 🥹
Scenes from the week
We lost our TV remote and honestly I’m not mad about it?! We tore apart the whole house looking for it and still can’t find it haha.
Sadie and I were working on some schoolwork Mordecai and Dakota were very interested! Homeschooling with little ones around is hard and good. There are a lot of interruptions but they also pick up on so much of what Sadie is learning!
We were going through this workbook/journal, which has been very engaging for Sadie and myself! It focuses a lot on the child choosing things they are interested in learning about and then taking ownership over what they want to learn. What have we learned about this week? How cat’s whiskers work and everything there is to know about pythons 🐍
Sadie and Mordecai building a train together was very entertaining for Dakota.
Speaking of Dakota, she has been rolling over lately and can now put her feet in her mouth 😂
I made a strawberry pie with my favorite crust recipe. I want to make a non-fruit pie here soon. Maybe grasshopper? Oreo? Chocolate peanut butter? The options are endless!
Dakota joined me for a quick mall trip to pick up the pottery that Sadie and I painted.
I love how it came out! I made Sadie an ice cream bowl (that girl loves ice cream) and she told me she was going for a leopard vibe for my bowl!
Sader Tot was very excited to have ice cream in her new bowl 😬
Dakota joined me while I put together brownies one afternoon! I used my favorite recipe but subbed all purpose flour instead of gluten free flour.
Brownies are one of those desserts that are so easy and satisfying. Who doesn’t like brownies?!
The kids kept waking up at the same time (well… waking each other up because one would wake up and call for me and then the others would hear them and wake up 😂 #smallhouselife) and then snuggling in Sadie’s bed. I love those moments 🫶
I made a big batch of meatballs this week and froze some of them. It’s always nice to have some meal options in the freezer. Would you rather have meatballs or meat sauce? I’m definitely team meatballs (though meat sauce would have been a lot easier to make 🤣).
I don’t know why I baked meatballs when it was like 95 degrees outside but oh well!
Dakota is almost a “hip baby” aka the size where I can throw her on my hip and she can hold herself up well.
Also, she has been trying to crawl lately?!?! I’ll lay her on her back on our bed, she’ll instantly roll over, and then bring her knee up toward her chest to scoot herself forward. It’s too soon for that, Dakota! SEND HELP 😂
The girls 💛
Mordecai is our waffle monster. He asks for chocolate chip waffles every day. I bought a mini waffle maker so I can keep up with his addiction.
My sister-in-law and I went to yoga together again and it was wonderful. I am really loving yoga lately ☺️
The instructor was like “Is your mat okay?” and I was like “Yeah… my kids just bite pieces out of it… “🫣
Notes and Thoughts:
- Sadie and I are reading Balto and The Great Race and then planning to watch the movie based off the story.
- I’ve got a big baking order to work on this week. Lots of chocolate covered Oreos and cookies!
- I put these baskets over the door to Sadie and Dakota’s room to store stuffed animals and it has been a game changer for keeping them off the floor/beds!
- We’re starting to plan Sadie’s seventh birthday party. Half the fun of a party is in the planning and excitement!
- We took the kids to Kennywood on Friday! We had a really great time. I will blog about that next 😊
- I just finished reading Food Person and I had a hard time putting it down! I kept wondering how it would end. I love when I get that invested in a story.
- I’m almost done with our little front porch decor revamp and I’m so excited! It’s fun for me to work on little projects like that.

I love all of these pics so much! Too much cuteness and yumminess in one post that’s for sure- and I can def eat meatballs any day of the week!
I could not stop laughing at your yoga mat- girl, we need to fix that with a new one (and hide it in a safe place 🤣)
can’t wait to help you plan Sadie’s party (if you need me 🫤)
love you,
Madre

I can’t wait for Sadie’s party, too!! You are def needed with planning help–you’ve done so many over the years!
