Breathing A Sigh of Relief and Everyday Life

Have you ever been stressed out about something and then after it’s over, you get a headache? That happens to me sometimes. I’ll be busy with something and then once the stress is over… I get a headache?! I’m going to call it a stress release headache, haha. That was me yesterday after finishing up a busy week.

I got all seven dozen cupcakes done that I mentioned in this post! Here’s how they came out.

Mint chocolate cupcakes

This batch was chocolate with mint buttercream (and chocolate hearts)! Jimmy said they’re now one of his favorite cupcakes. I’ve long been a fan of mint + chocolate, so I was excited for these. They kind of reminded me of a peppermint mocha!

Vanilla cupcakes with green frosting

These were just vanilla on vanilla with sage green frosting to match the event’s color scheme.

Strawberry cupcakes with strawberry buttercream

These pinkie pies were strawberry with strawberry buttercream 🍓

Last but not least, these were vanilla with strawberry buttercream and white chocolate hearts.

I also led my workshop at the ladies event! We made DIY Scripture boxes. This was my setup. Boxes to decorate with stickers, paper divider cards, and index cards with Bibles and colored pens to write scripture and store it in the box!

From Wednesday night until Saturday afternoon, my brain was just going a mile a minute doing things and doing a lot of driving. I’m glad to be finished up! And I hope it was fun for everyone involved 😊

In between all of that was the usual life stuff. School with Sadie, pet sitting, Etsy orders, and keeping up around the house. How about a few pictures?

Risen Motherhood podcast

Amongst all the driving I did this week, I was able to listen to a great podcast on motherhood and not comparing myself to other moms. It was just what I needed! All moms are different and that’s good. That’s how God made us. I often struggle with guilt over being introverted and not as social as other people (especially with having a child [Sadie!] who is a social butterfly, lol). But God made me who I am and introverts have strengths just like extroverts do. They’re just not valued as much in our culture of being go-go-go all the time.

We had a fairly warm week, so these two enjoyed lots of time outside… riding Sadie’s scooter together lol.

Sadie and I took her schoolwork outside. Trying to do this as much as possible before it gets too cold outside! Also her shirt in this picture? She used her chore money to buy a plain t-shirt and drew pictures of the Paw Patrol characters on it. She’s so cute! And creative. She just loves to have a blank canvas and go crazy with it. I love to support that 💛

Nespresso Vertuo

Lots of coffee was consumed this week. Still loving these pods.

Sadie and I were both excited to see all the Christmas decor out at the mall. YAY!

Niva spent some time with her bestie 🐾

Jimmy took the kids on a hike while I was at the above-mentioned event! He’s a great dad and so great at being present and playing with the kids!

Other things of note:

  • Sadie designed Lego sets for us to do together by putting specific Lego pieces in a bag and then explaining how to put it together. One was a horse stable and the other was a dog grooming shop.
  • We’re having a family birthday party for Mordecai at my parents’ house this week and I’m excited to make his cake! It’s going to be a race car theme.
  • It just dawned on me that Christmas is next month. Woo hoo! I’m thinking about things we’d like to do as a family to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Tell me your traditions!
  • I picked up Atlas of Cats for Sadie and she is loving it. I love it, too 😉

It’s time to start a new week! We’re headed home from church and possibly moving Sadie’s room around tonight to see if we can fit her sister in there. If we can’t… I don’t know what we’ll do LOL. I know she’ll be in our room in a bassinet for a bit, so we have that buffer! Speaking of baby, I have a prenatal appointment this week and all the usual fun stuff like homeschooling, Etsy, and housekeeping!

  1. the cupcakes for the ladies event were so beautiful!! I’m sure they all tasted amazing, as always 😍 I know how hard you worked (for months) on your workshop, and you did a fantastic job of putting it all together. I’m so glad it was enjoyable to everyone that participated! I’m sure they’ll love the outcome of their scripture / prayer boxes being so organized.

I’m so glad your headache subsided ~ It def has happened to me in the past too- a post-stress headache 🤕

all the pics of the kids are so adorable- and Jimmy is an amazing dad. Taking them on a hike must have been a blast for all of them.
ill be praying for your upcoming appt!

    love you,

    madre

    1. Thank YOU for your help with getting them to the church! I couldn’t have done it without you… as usual!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has had a headache *after* stress because it was really weirding me out lol!!

Jimmy truly is amazing! As are YOU! Love you!

  2. I can’t say I’ve ever had a headache after stressful times, but I think a stomachache is something I get. I feel my stress in my stomach rather than my head. Headache aside I’m glad you finished the stressful tasks! Those cupcakes are beautiful as always!

    1. Oooh, I didn’t even think about a stomachache after stress! I always hear that saying that the stomach is the second brain so that would 100% make sense! It’s crazy how we all carry our stress and tension in different areas of our bodies.

Thank you for the compliment on my cupcakes 🥰
