Welcome to September! How in the world is the start of fall this month? Crazy! I am looking forward to the start of fall festival season and celebrating Sadie’s birthday later this month.

Here’s what’s current in my life this month. As always, please share what’s current in your life in the comments!

Current books Lots of homeschooling books have been inspiring me lately: The Brave Learner, Modern Miss Mason, The Four-Hour School Day, and The Unhurried Homeschooler. I’d love some fiction recommendations to give my brain a break! Mordecai is absolutely loving Biscuit books lately. So nostalgic! I read them as a child, I read them to Sadie, and now he enjoys them. He can’t say “Biscuit” yet so he just calls them “Puppy,” which is adorable. During my Bible study time, I have been going through a study on The Lord’s Prayer by Daily Grace Co.

The Brave Learner Book

Current food Popcorn. I’m still dealing with some morning sickness, but mostly at night (I know, it’s weird!). For some reason, popcorn has been okay at night so I’m sticking with it!

Current drink Coffee. Right now we’re going through a bag of Starbucks Veranda Blend.

Current baked good Kind of a different baked good, but I baked a pot roast!

Current beauty product Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Mousse. Grad Girl and I had a conversation about how to tame curly hair when she was in Pittsburgh. She said she asked someone with really nice curly hair what they did to help it in the rain and one of the secrets was mousse. Added that to my cart ASAP 😉

Current laugh Jimmy and I took the kids into Bath and Body works so we could get hand soap. The song “Material Girl” was playing and Sadie said “They’re saying Cheerio girl!” haha.

Current scripture Really loving 2 Timothy 1:7.

Current craving A date night with Jimmy, as always!

Current fun Making sensory bins for the kids! I made them fall-themed ones and then garden-themed ones a few days later. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

Current kid product Both Sadie (age 5) and Mordecai (age 1) play with this wooden train set together for quite a while each day.

Current home product Simple black dinner plates. We use almost all of them every day and they do great in the microwave and dishwasher.

Current cuteness This little guy!

Current need A chunk of time! I need to take a continuing education class for therapy work with Niva and it involves watching a video and taking a test.

Currently looking forward to Sadie’s birthday party later this month. She drew an elaborate cake that she wants me to make (help!) and we just had a few decorations arrive in the mail. Her excitement makes me so happy!

Current joy Homeschooling Sadie. I love spending this time with her and watching her learn and grasp new concepts.

Sadie was doing her handwriting workbook at the library!

Current excitement The homeschool co-op we attend is starting back up! Sadie is so excited to have a day each week to spend time with her friends and learn.

Current question When do you decorate for fall (if you do!)? We ended up pulling out the wreath, pumpkins, etc. on September 3rd because Sadie was just so excited. I’m loving it, though!
