It’s Friday! You know what that means: time for a Friday Favorites post. I love thinking about things that have been my favorite all through the week and jotting them down so I can share here. Let me know in the comments what some of your favorites are!
Do you have any plans for the weekend? I’ll be at the hospital getting an iron infusion today, so I will probably lay low for the weekend. I think Jimmy is working on a project for the Fourth of July parade our church is participating in. As for Sadie, she will probably be running around living her best life 😂
Friday Favorites
Sugar scrub. I am forever on a hunt to find products to soften the skin on my feet. So glamorous, I know! I just have rough feet, especially my heels. When I had my nails done recently, the nail tech used a sugar scrub and I had an aha/duh moment, where I realized an exfoliant would be great to soften up my feet. Enter this sugar scrub. It citrus-y and is made with essential oils and Vitamin C. It feels like a mini spa session every time I use it 😊
A book on introversion. Jimmy and I recently had a great conversation about me being an introvert. I was telling him that I often feel that the world is made for extroverts and I sometimes feel bad about myself for being an introvert. Extroverts can go to events and then out for dinner and stay late to talk and feel energized by it all. My introverted self would rather spend the evening on the couch with a book. I ordered this book and am really enjoying the brain science of introversion mixed with how Christians can live their lives as God made them and thrive.
Thrifting. I just love Poshmark. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s an app and website when you can buy and sell new or used items. Since we found out or second child is a boy, I’ve been slowly thrifting his future wardrobe and finding it to be so much fun! I also picked up the adorable shirt pictured below for my sister’s son due in September. I am that aunt that is forever buying my nieces and nephews something if I think they will like it 😇
Anatomy scan. We had our anatomy scan this week and it went well! Baby boy is doing great! The ultrasound took forever because he was moving, flipping, kicking, and being super active. I wasn’t too upset it took a long time because it gave me more time to study his little profile and watch his heart beating 😏 So thankful God is sustaining our baby boy and that he’s growing and doing well 💙
Sadie assigning stuffed animals. Every night when Sadie goes to bed, she gives Jimmy and I one of her stuffed animals to sleep with. Her little ritual is adorable and she takes great care in picking which stuffed animal we get ❤️
Shedding blade. When you have a husky, dog brushes become a daily staple in life. So do vacuums (our Dyson is the real MVP 😂). I recently tried out a shedding blade on Niva and it’s a great addition to our brush arsenal!
Alone. Not being alone (though I do love me some alone time 😉), but the TV show! A new season of Alone recently premiered so Jimmy and I have been watching it after Sadie goes to bed. It’s so neat to see people survive in the wilderness by themselves with just a few items. It takes a lot of grit, creativity, knowledge, and patience!
A trim. My hair was feeling so scraggly at the ends. It was driving me crazy. Soo I trimmed it myself yesterday. I even let Sadie do a snip or two! I think I took off about an inch and it feels so. much. better. I also restocked my favorite leave-in conditioner! Do you have a favorite hair product? I want to know what it is!
Archery quiver. This has been making my life so much easier! I was putting my arrows on our porch swing and having to hold them all in my hands when I collected them. Now I have a nifty little quiver to wear on my back. It holds my arrows while I shoot and is handy for collecting them after a round of shots!
Okay, time to get the weekend started! Well, I won’t really be having too much fun today at the hospital, but hopefully I’ll get up to something fun this weekend 🤩

Awww, thanks! What are favorites from YOUR week?! I love you!!! ❤
Happy Friday! 🙂 Hope the hospital appointment goes well. And congrats on the anatomy scan, that must have been so exciting.
I could definitely use a sugar scrub on my feet, will check that out! I also have rough feet and all the hiking I’ve been doing recently hasn’t helped. I’m also going to have to check out a shedding blade as Aimee’s fur is so long and I’m always having to vacuum. There’s a brand called Furminator that I looked at before but I was worried it might cut her coat and damage it.
My favourites this week: spending time with my boyfriend and going to a concert with him, drinking an iced coffee while sitting outside in the sun, having a long catch-up with a friend while eating Italian food, getting positive and constructive feedback from my supervisor on my master’s thesis. Lots of good things happening at the moment ❤
Thank you, Grace!!
The sugar scrub is awesome! I love that you’ve been so into hiking, but also sorry about the number it’s done on your feet! I know what you mean! I always wondered is Aimee shed her fur much! I guess the answer is yes, haha! I’ve heard all good things about Furminator products but have yet to buy any because they seem expensive! We have a family friend who had two chocolate labs and swore by Furminator brushes!
Ahh, I love all the good things happening in your life lately! I smiled so hard reading about that! Iced coffee in the sun… a concert with your man…. yummy food with a friend… good feedback on your thesis.. all the good stuff! I am SO happy for you! Hope your weekend is awesome! 💜
I’m going to have to try that sugar scrub! My feet are in need of a bit of TLC as well. 😉 I bet it smells AMAZING!
I love that God created different personality types, and that we can know (whether we’re introverted or extroverted) He has a special plan for US! He definitely loves variety and knew that all of our unique gifts would be needed in this world. 🙂
I’ve never used Poshmark, but I really should give it a try! We don’t have very many thrift shops out in my neck of the woods, and that would give me access to it.
Awwww, how sweet! I love that Sadie gives you stuffed animals each night. What a kind heart she has.
I love survival shows!!
I recently discovered Not Your Mother’s Curls products, and they work SO well for my curly hair. I loosely follow the Curly Girl method, and my hair has never been happier. I also love the Mighty Curls hair mask by Raw Sugar!
I used to love archery, but I haven’t done it in years. I’m loving hearing about your archery adventures. I think it’s so important for mama’s to have hobbies like that (and so important for your kiddos to see you doing something that you love too). I’m going to start calling you Katniss Everdeen. Ha, ha!
I hope your appointment goes well today and that you can rest up this weekend! My kiddos have COVID, so we’ll be holed up at home as well.
Ooo, I think you would enjoy Poshmark! It’s similar to Ebay. If you’re not into bidding or anything like that, there’s also a website I’m sure you’ve heard of called ThredUp and they have all used (and some new) items for kids at a discount! You can even send in your kiddos old items and they sell them for you!
I am going to check out the Mighty Curls mask by Raw Sugar ASAP! Never heard of it! I also like the Not Your Mother’s products!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Ooh YES, so the mask is an amazing addition to the Not Your Mother’s products. They do have a mask, but I feel like the Raw Sugar one (Target sells it) does a better job. I love it!!
