You know what I love spending money on? New appliances! Just kidding. Our dishwasher started leaking a couple of weeks ago and we dealt with it by putting a towel under the dishwasher every time we ran it. Then the leaking escalated to water pouring out onto our kitchen floor. Not good!
After we figured out we could no longer use it, I hand washed the dishes for a few days and it got old really quickly, lol! Jimmy figured out the leak was due to the age of the dishwasher (it was in the house when we bought it in 2014), so we bought a new one.
I feel very blessed that we were able to buy a new appliance on a whim and I’m so thankful for modern conveniences like dishwashers! With all the baking and cooking I do, I felt like I was constantly at the sink. This dishwasher is a lot more quiet than our old one, so that’s a win 😊
I think there’s something about me being pregnant that causes our appliances to break. Last time I was pregnant, our washing machine and refrigerator bit the dust 😆
On a happier note, we have been enjoying time outside lately! Today is a rainy day here in Pittsburgh, but yesterday was lovely! Sadie and I went to our favorite trail that leads to a creek and she made friends with boys who were there with their mom to play.
They ran around in the water, dug in the rocky sand, and Sadie caught a butterfly (well, a moth, but still…!).
Niva, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with the great outdoors if it’s over 70 degrees and sunny. She’s a big fan of the air conditioning and is always finding the vents in our house and laying directly in front of them.
I think she is missing the snow and cold! She’s also starting to blow her coat, so her undercoat rake has been my best friend lately 😬
Sadie sat on her pappy’s motorcycle after church on Sunday! She looked so grown up compared to the last time she sat on it.
He asked her if she wanted a ride around the parking lot and she was a solid no on that front. Totally my child 😂
Love the picture on the motorcycle!
Love You
Dad
Me too! Love you!
Sadie is so cute, she has grown a lot! She looks a lot like you. Also, if you don’t want to share until your boy is born, it makes sense, but do you have any names that you’re considering?
Thank you!! It’s fun to hear she looks like me because she looked SO different when she was born! So far, we are leaning towards Mordecai for our son’s name 🙂
I love that name so much!! ❤️
Sorry to hear your dishwasher broke, but at least a positive came out of it with the new one being quieter and it will hopefully last a long time. It looks very smart! I don’t think anything has broken for me recently, the last major break was my car in March last year 😅 I’m really happy with the one I got to replace it and now that I work (mostly) remotely, I’m driving a lot fewer miles so this one should last for ages. I had the old one for 10 years anyway so it was due for a change!
Thank you, Grace! I am hoping it lasts a long time, too! I remember hearing about your car breaking down. So glad you were able to replace it and I hope this new (ish) one lasts you even more than ten years!
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear about the dishwasher! Hopefully that will be the only appliance to go out on you this pregnancy. 😉 But hooray for a new quieter one!
Niva cracks me up with her dislike of warm weather. Oreo is the opposite. He is like a lizard out in the sun baking all day. And in the winter he is huddled up inside under blankets or beside the heat vents. Haha!
Hahah, I hope so too!! It is so nice having a quiet dishwasher now. Gotta look on the bright side 😉
Soo funny that Oreo loves the warmth! They are total opposites in that regard 😂
I have to take yearly pics of my kids sitting on my dad’s motorcycle, and I just love looking back and seeing how they’ve grown. Pepere’s motorcycle is still THE coolest thing! 🙂 That pic of Sadie made me think of our motorcycle memories with my own dad. 🙂
And I HATE buying new appliances… but they’re always nice once installed. It is nice having something so new. Our dishwasher broke YEARS ago, and I’ve been doing dishes by hand… but it feels like I do dishes all day on the cooking days as well (and I don’t cook for a business like you do!!
so I can only imagine how many dishes that you were doing). We’re hoping to get a new one soon!
That is so awesome! I bet those yearly pictures are cherished and I love that you have the memories, too!
You’re been doing dishes by hand for years?! I feel bad for complaining about doing them for a few days, haha! I hope you get a new one very soon and can enjoy the ease of putting dirty dishes in there and forgetting about them until they’re clean!
Ha, ha. I have, but I’m also not running an Etsy shop where I cook up delicious foods! I’m just cooking and baking for my family… So really, you probably do like five times as many dishes as I do. 🙂
