Hey! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.
My family from New York arrived at my house around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, and they’re still here.. woo! We’ve all been hanging out at my house, traversing the Pittsburgh area, eating good food, and laughing a lot.
Thanksgiving food preparations began on Tuesday night, with my mom and I baking almond and pumpkin cookies. Wednesday morning, I made pumpkin pie and banana cream pie. My mom made an apple pie and my aunt made cheesecake. Dessert city!
The turkey was fully cooked around 2:30 p.m., and we ate around 3:00p .m.! We had turkey, sage-sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli, corn, biscuits, coleslaw, and cranberry sauce. I thought it was very goofy, but we also had ketchup and sriracha at the table :p. Good food and a messy table. I swear my family isn’t usually that messy… we were just looking at Black Friday advertisements!
Me, Hannah, and Molly (one of our cousins). We didn’t plan on matching by wearing black t-shirts. Just a coincidence!
Mom + Dad looking all adorable and whatnot ❤
Everyone gathered in our tiny living room to watch my favorite football team (the Dallas Cowboys) lose.
My mom and aunt left to go shopping around 7 p.m. (crazy). Everyone else gathered around the fire. For a little while, it was just my dad and I sitting by the fire. I don’t get to talk to him one-on-one very often because he’s always busy with work. We were able to sit together and talk for about an hour, just me and him. I think that was my favorite part about Thanksgiving. I love my dad :).

Also, I have some good news. My truck isn’t totaled and I might be getting it back sometime next week!
I learned the good news on Thanksgiving and I was very thankful! It was crazy to think that the crash happened on Halloween, and I finally heard back on Thanksgiving. I am so excited to get my baby back! Every time Pittsburgh had warm weather the past few weeks, I wanted to wash my truck, and then I would realize that I couldn’t. Now I can! But it’s supposed to snow this week. LOL.
I have more pictures to share, but I don’t want to make this post too long. I’m off to work, and then spending the day with my family because they leave tomorrow.
How was your Thanksgiving?
oh i am so glad you truck will be back home soon! yea!!
Yay for your truck! Your thanksgiving meal sounds similar to mine! We keep ketchup on our table too…We’ve got some picky eaters in the house 😉 A bonfire post feast would be so cool! Glad you got to spend some one-on-one time with your dad. That’s always nice. The holidays really bring people together. Have a wonderful weekend ❤
so happy about your truck! all these pictures are adorable.
So glad you’ll be getting the truck back soon, it stinks to be without a vehicle and having to get rides from people, but at least you have good people in your life to help ya out. Looks like you guys had a great Thanksgiving and don’t worry about the ads in the pictures- a lot of people on here clean up things for their blogs and all, but trust me the majority of us have houses that look lived in and foods that don’t always come out beautiful but are still tasty, haha.
Your Thanksgiving looks like so much fun and I can only imagine what the food tasted like at your house. So good. I’m really glad to hear about your truck Allie-you deserve that!
Congratulations! 🙂
I have nominated you for the “Blog of the Year 2012 Award”. For further details regarding the nomination, check out the link:

Mmmmm everything looks so tasty! Love the pictures of your family 🙂
Sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving with your family! That’s so awesome 🙂 Your desserts all look fabulous, especially that banana cream pie! And I am so happy to hear your truck wasn’t totaled. A similar thing happened to me last year when some guys wrecked into my truck. The insurance company thought it might be totaled, but we were able to find a mechanic who was able to fix it for cheap. Hopefully your truck will be as good as new!
The week/weekend went by so fast! I love your pics ~ it’s funny how your brother is the only one looking at the camera and the rest of the fam is watching the game or goofing around on laptops/smartphones. Thanks for helping so much the dinner & dessert prep, and then the dreaded clean-up. You’re the best baby… Love you ❤
Yay for getting your truck back in one piece! And time with your dad. Great things to be thankful for.
Ugh, that stuffing sounds so good.
I had a great Thanksgiving with my family, filled with lots and lots of food. 🙂 Glad you had a great Thanksgiving as well. And thats great news, hope you get the car back asap!
Your parents are so cute!!!
I’m really glad to hear that you spent some time with your dad and that your truck isn’t as bad as you thought!!
Pumpkin pie is the BEST! I love it cold with lots of whipped cream and a side of hot coffee.
Yay for getting your car back. I hope that boy learned his lesson. Anyways, looks like you had a great Thanksgiving and are very close to your family. That’s wonderful.
Looks like a wonderful time together! And delicious food! And a huge hooray for hopefully getting your truck back! 🙂
Oh your family looks so cozy!! It must be nice to have such a big crew!
