Sweetest Sister, Therapy Visit, and Cat Chocolate Covered Oreos

I was driving the kids the other morning and glanced in my rearview mirror. Sadie was putting her hand over Mordecai’s face. He had been crying on and off as we drove.

What are you doing sweetie?” I asked Sadie.

I’m using my hand to block the sun from his eyes!” she replied.

Once we got to a red light, I turned around and saw that she really was using her hand to shield his eyes from the sun. How sweet is that? By that point, he was all smiles. I love their relationship!

Shedding Season and Creating with the Kids

Niva is in her shedding season. Am I slightly losing my mind? Maybe! Our couches always have a thin layer of fur, I feel like I can see it in the air, and I can pull clumps of it off of Niva’s body all day. Jimmy and I finally got out our favorite undercoat rakes (yes, we have two!) and went to town on Niva one night this week.

The result was that we had enough fur to stuff a pillow. Hopefully that was the last of the shedding for the season?! Speaking of Niva, she and I did a therapy visit together this week at the school for Deaf children that we regularly visit. We love it there so much! Kids + dogs = pure joy. (more…)
