This Week’s Grocery Haul

Another week, another grocery haul! I feel like these posts are just me sharing that we bought more orange juice, but they seem to be interesting to other people, so here we are! 😂

This week, I shopped at Walmart, Shop ‘n Save, and Aldi. Here’s everything we bought for our family of five, along with a few notes on good deals and the staples we always keep on hand.

Aldi Groceries 🛒

I did the bulk of my shopping at Aldi this week and mostly bought our regulars—orange juice, popsicles, cheese, and fruit. I also picked up salmon and steak because the price was right! Here’s everything we bought at Aldi.

Aldi meat and dairy items

Popsicles – $2.79
The kids are going through popsicles at an alarming rate!

Orange juice – $3.75
When will I learn to start buying two bottles of this at a time?!

Almond milk – $2.29
For my nightly cereal addiction.

Shredded cheese – $2.79
I use this for pasta dishes, egg wraps, and pizzas.

Cedar plank salmon (x2) – $16.67
For some reason, the cedar plank salmon was less expensive than the regular Atlantic salmon. I’ll take it! I’ve been grilling it all week.

Bacon-wrapped steak – $7.99
Jimmy requested steak, so I made it happen. This was actually really good. Go Aldi!

Aldi strawberries, eggs, and tomatoes

Strawberries (x2) – $4.58
I bought one pack for snacking and one pack for strawberry rhubarb pie. Recipe coming soon. 😍

Eggs – $1.46
Probably should have bought a couple dozen eggs with all the baking I’ve been doing lately. 😉

Grape tomatoes – $1.99
These were used to top salads and also got roasted with vegetables!

Aldi pantry items

Jasmine rice – $1.29
My emergency side dish I like to have on hand at all times. 😉

Prime Hydration Drink – $1.95
My favorite way to stay hydrated!

Croutons – $1.15
For salads! And sometimes just to munch on!

Chocolate chunks – $4.49
These were added to cookie dough, along with peanut butter and pretzels. Another recipe that will be coming soon!

Ginger root – $1.99
I peel, grate, and blend this with lemon, then pour it into these little glass bottles for Jimmy’s daily ginger shots.

Aldi Total: $55.18

Shop ‘n Save to Fill in the Gaps 🛒

Our local grocery store is Shop ‘n Save. They carry all the grocery basics, along with a nice selection of specialty items. I try not to shop here too often since prices tend to be a bit higher than Aldi or Walmart, but there are a few things I can only find here. Here’s what I picked up this week.

Shiitake mushrooms and rhubarb

Shiitake mushrooms – $4.29
I could eat these for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re my favorite kind of mushroom!

Rhubarb – $5.89
This went straight into a strawberry rhubarb pie! 🥧

Shop ‘n Save Total: $10.18

Walmart Staples 🛒

I didn’t grab too much from Walmart this time around! Just a few pantry staples and training pants for Mordecai.

Boy sitting with bunny grahams and peanut butter

Bunny grahams – $4.88
This is the one snack our whole family fights over. I’ve been known to hide the box… for myself. 😉

Peanut butter (40oz) – $6.27
Skippy is one of my favorite brands of peanut butter! We use this in energy bites and granola.

Parent's Choice Training Pants

Training pants – $19.97
These are the cheapest overnight diapers I can find for our little guy! He’s fully potty trained, but we put him in a pull up overnight.

Starbucks Sunsera Blend Coffee Beans

Starbucks coffee beans – $23.74
Our favorite coffee! It’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s one of those things we consider fully worth it.

Walmart Total: $54.86

Grand Total: $120.22

There you have it—this week’s grocery haul! We spent $120.22 across Aldi, Shop ‘n Save, and Walmart. Not too bad for a week of groceries that included steak, salmon, training pants for Mordecai, and our favorite coffee. Thanks for following along, and I’ll see you in the next grocery haul!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to pour a glass of orange juice before we inevitably run out again. 😜

What’s one food everyone in your house seems to fight over? 😂
