Hello May! This month is a good one in our family: we celebrate the birthday of Jimmy, two of my nieces, and my brother-in-law. The weather should start to warm up a bit, too!
Here’s a look at what’s current in my life this month! As always, please share what’s up for you in the comments. I love hearing about your lives. 😊
Current joy Jimmy is home! He went on a trip with the men from our church and I held down the fort here for a couple of days. We all missed him so much.
Current laugh While Jimmy was away, he called me and I was at the library with the kids. Dakota climbed a step stool that was probably three feet tall while I was talking to him. She fell backwards off of it, I gasped, and hung up the phone to go and comfort her. Thankfully she was totally fine! I texted Jimmy after and was like “Sorry I hung up on you, Dakota fell off a step stool.” Jimmy was like “Yeah, I heard a gasp, a cry, and then a click when you hung up and I knew something happened!” Never a dull moment over here. 😉
Current fun My mom, the kids, and I all attended a Mother’s Day event at a local business! It was definitely chaotic taking three little ones to an event geared towards adults, but we still managed to have a good time!
Current food Really enjoying Strawberry Chex cereal lately!
Current drink As always, coffee. ☕️
Current books So many lately! I’m still deep in the Bridgerton series and also reading Simple Abundance and A Million Tiny Moments. Sadie read Rafa and the Wrong Legs to Mordecai (so sweet!), Mordecai has been loving Ford: Road Trip, and Sadie and I are re-reading the Zoey and Sassafrass series together.
Current baked good Lemon blueberry granola and apple pie!
Current scripture Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2
Current home product Lavender-scented toilet bowl cleaner. It makes the unglamorous task of scrubbing the toilets a little more enjoyable. 😉
Current win I mowed the grass while Jimmy was away! Felt great to get that done for him.
Current goal Possibly getting a new oven or figuring out if we can fix it. Our oven randomly has an “F2” error where the temperature decides to climb way past 500 degrees and it burns everything. It used to happen once in a blue moon, but lately it happens about once a week. Not ideal when your side gig is baking!
Current kid product Washi tape! My big kids have so much fun with this.
Current cuteness Dakota eating from the cereal container on the floor, as third children do. 😂
Current beauty product A lightweight hair oil by one of my favorite brands.
Current craving I am dying to go horseback riding! It’s one of those things that terrifies me but I also enjoy. That makes sense, right? 🤣
Current blessing Sadie filmed a video on my phone saying Happy Mother’s Day and thanked me for all I do. I had no idea she took the video and then she showed it to me and my heart did a little flip! When I was in the thick of the difficult newborn days, I dreamt of Sadie simply being able to say I love you. And here she is leaving video messages on my phone saying just that. Such a blessing!

Lots happening in May in the Zottola household!
Love ❤️ You!
Dad
🙂
Always!! Love ya!
How thoughtful and sweet of Sadie to record you a Mother’s Day message like that. She has such a kind heart 🩷
I hope you get to go horseback riding! I haven’t been in years. I loved it when I had my own horse, a long time ago (I was 16 when we sold her, half my lifetime ago!)
Currently in my life: I’m enjoying my work a lot more than a few months ago, and I feel more fulfilled at work. It’s almost a year since my role was put at risk of redundancy (now permanent again) and I’m so thankful that I was able to keep my job! Last May was a rollercoaster with the job stuff and getting engaged in the middle of it all.
I have some time off and my birthday falls in that week, so I’m looking forward to celebrating.
Have a wonderful week 😊
Aww, thank you! She truly does. Sometimes I forget and then she does something like that and I feel so thankful and proud of her!
Ahh, I always forget you had a horse!!! I would love to hear more about it! Horses are so special.
I loved your currently update! I’m so, so happy you’re feeling settled at work and fulfilled. Sometimes going through those hard patches makes the new “normal” feel extra special.
Enjoy your time off and your birthday! I can’t wait to hear about it 🙂
