We made it through what felt like the longest month maybe ever?! Now it’s February—the month to celebrate love!

Here’s a look at what’s current in my life this month. Please share your responses to the prompts in the comments. I love hearing what’s going on with everyone each month!

Current books Proverbs, The Baking Games, Sadie and Jimmy have been reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Mordecai has been enjoying God is Love, and Dakota loves the touch-and feel areas of this adorable Valentine’s Day board book.

Currently looking forward to Our annual family Valentine’s Day celebration! We have a special dinner with a “fancy” table cloth and themed paper plates, and then everyone draws a name and we split up and shop for a small gift for each other.

Current food Still on a spicy chicken kick. I sometimes ask myself why I have heartburn and I think this is why. 😂

Current drink Loving Starbucks Sunsera coffee beans and Prime Hydration.

Current scripture Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5

Current baked good Peanut butter granola, secret ingredient cookies, and Valentine’s Day chocolate covered Oreos!

Current mood Content!

Current beauty products ColourPop Shadow Stix are my new favorite eyeshadow! They’re so creamy and glide on my eyelids so smoothly. They’re pretty long-lasting, too! I’ve also been using a swipe of L’Oreal Lumi Le Glow Highlighter on each cheek when I’m feelin’ fancy.

Current indulgence Painting my nails! Every now and then I get the itch to paint my nails and I always wonder why I don’t do it more often. It’s one of those small things that brings me a lot of joy.

Current fun Visiting Jimmy at work and doing homeschool in our homeschool room. It’s a nice way to break up the day and Mordecai especially loves seeing Jimmy in action.

Current need Still need to get Mordecai a winter jacket!

Current craving Time in our hot tub and warmer weather! It has been too cold in Pittsburgh lately. 🥶

Current confession Dakota has this habit of sitting on my feet while I’m cooking. I get stuck standing in one spot and the only way to get her to move is to throw a piece of food about five feet away so she crawls away for a second. 😆

Current blessing Seeing the kids’ bond grow. Mordecai and Dakota are inseparable, and Sadie was over the moon to surprise Mordecai with a toy she picked out herself.

Current song AMEN by Forrest Frank

Current kid products The kids all like to use our Melissa and Doug Pancake Set to pretend to run a pancake shop! I “ordered” chocolate chip pancakes and Mordecai said (in a very mom-like voice) “Oh, so sorry, we don’t have any chocolate chips!” 🤣

Current home product I love the smell of this glass cleaner.

Current goal Writing! I’m working on a new book and have been savoring my early morning writing time.

Laptop, Bible, notebook, coffee mug, and pens

Current prayer Dakota is having her ear tube surgery next week and I’m praying all goes well for our little Koko!

Current joy Everyday life with my little family.

Current cuteness The kids playing together! They are very into building forts lately.

Current excitement I think Pittsburgh is going to hit 30 degrees one day this week! I am pumped for some “warmth” haha.

  1. Praying for Koko’s surgery!

Mordecai looks all grown up at the shop!

You’re doing great with your book!

BTW, Proverbs has 31 chapters, one day for each day of the month and then start over! At least for most months 🙂

    Love You,

    Dad

    🙂

  2. I laughed at Dakota sitting on your feet when you’re cooking. Polly did the same when she was tiny, and throwing a treat also worked. Sometimes babies and puppies are pretty similar 😆

I hope all goes smoothly with her ear tube surgery. May she recover quickly. It’ll definitely be a relief for her (and you!) when it’s done – ear infections are so horrible.

Currently this month: wedding dress shopping (I’m torn between two that I really like), meeting up with friends for lunch, Polly’s agility classes and a ‘surprise’ visit from my brother and his family. He lives in Scotland and phoned to say they’re coming to visit in two weeks. Unexpected and lovely! 😊

    1. Hahah, yup Polly and Dakota aren’t too different. I’m pretty sure puppies are harder than babies!

Thank you for your sweet words for Dakota’s surgery! I’m nervous, but I know it will be worth it!

YAY for wedding dress shopping! If you need an opinion… send me a DM on Instagram! I am still so excited for Polly’s agility class! I hope you have a great visit with your brother!

  3. I love your “current” posts, so cool to know what you and your zoo are up to. Dakota at your feet is hilarious – and I do know first hand how she spots food from afar and comes crawling 90 miles an hour to get a piece.

Well for me, this month was a little crazy, as we endured the Pittsburgh storm in January, then traveled to the Outer Banks and went thru the crazy blizzard down there! Fun, but not so fun, only because they have no means of taking care of the roads and no plows, so everything was very icy… anyway, we made it back to the ‘Burgh, and this month has been so cold and confining. So glad for the recent break in the weather – balmy compared to the beginning of the month!!

    Love you,

    Madre
