Thank you to everyone who read and commented on Hannah’s birth experience with Gideon! I’m happy to share that they’re both doing well! Gideon is still in the NICU and is working on growing and regulating his body temperature. Please pray with us that he would be able to go home soon!
The day after he was born, I hightailed it to the hospital to see Han, Josh, and Gideon. It was so good to just hug them and hear about his birth and of course meet my nephew!
Proud aunt over here! Hannah and I figured out since Gideon and Dakota were both born on a Sunday, they’re exactly seven weeks apart in age! Also, we were laughing when we told the NICU nurse we have seven(!) kids between us 😬
Hi from Sadie frosting cinnamon rolls and Mordecai hugging her as hard as he can! They both love each other so much. I love seeing their bond grow deeper every day.
Hi from our coffee maker. We’ve had it almost two months now and still love it so much. I frothed a little bit of half and half with our handheld milk frother before I brewed a cup and it was delish! Maybe the Hello Kitty mug made it taste extra good?!
I brought the kids to a craft activity at the library this week and Mordecai snuggled on my lap! Sadie is still freaked out by Mordecai’s pointy “vampire teeth” and I feel like this picture showcases them well 😂
Sadie drew a picture of jelly beans falling from the sky. She is too cool. She said her favorite color of jelly beans is pink. I guess that would be berry flavored? Do you have a favorite flavor/color of jelly beans?!
Strawberry stretch! Dakota is rockin’ Sadie’s old onesie in the above picture and I love it 🍓
Dakota also wore Sadie’s old dinosaur outfit! Want to see Sadie wearing it in 2019? Check out this post!
I had a Walmart grocery order delivered to our house the other day and something was missing from the order. I got on a chat with customer service and they fixed the problem. The representative said I was calm and understanding. What is up with people being mean to customer service!
Have you ever worked in customer service? If so… thanks for your hard work!
I made our neighbor who had knee surgery a meal of stuffed peppers, biscuits, salad, and brownies. I finally updated the picture for my recipe. The old picture was from like 2011 haha.
It has felt so good to get back in the kitchen lately since having Dakota. Sadie and I brought home a cookbook from the library and Jimmy flipped through it and asked me to make spiced plum and quinoa muffins.
I had never baked with quinoa before, so that was cool!
I was doing some work on the computer and Dakota fell asleep on my chest. Is there anything more peaceful than a baby sleeping on your chest?
Doesn’t Niva look so sweet and innocent laying on the couch with her belly up? Not even ten minutes after Sadie took this picture of her, miss Niva ran out the front door when Jimmy got home from work. She ran the neighborhood and came back about thirty minutes later. She is forever keeping us on our toes.
See that pink pillow above? We used to have one of those pillows and Jimmy and Sadie would “fight” over who got to sit with it, so now we have three. They’re so soft!
I love looking back in the car and seeing all three kids! Jimmy put Mordecai’s seat next to Sadie recently and he was so excited to be able to play with her hair while we drive 😂 Also, these seat protectors and these kick mats with storage have come in clutch with kids!
These two! Mordecai continues to be so gentle with Dakota. Makes my mom heart so happy to see them together. She has been smiling at him a few times and it’s just precious!
The three musketeers! On the comfiest blanket. Jimmy said he’s ready to retire it until fall since the weather is starting to warm up. I would sleep under it even if it was 80 degrees outside 🤣
A few more notes and thoughts:
- I painted my nails for the first time in I don’t know how long! It felt good. I used white polish and the Dazzle Dry system.
- Dakota has her two month checkup next week! Time is flying by. I am not looking forward to her getting her vaccines. It’s so pitiful when they get jabbed 😔
- I’m currently reading Resurrection by Danielle Steel. I don’t think I’ve ever read one of her books, which is super surprising since she’s so popular.
- I just pulled roasted vegetables out of the oven. I combined a chopped sweet potato, parsnip, and onion with olive oil, salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Yum!
- Sadie and I discovered a new-to-us series of books called We Both Read. The adult reads one page and the child reads words on the other page to read the story together. There are different levels, from Pre K-4, so we will be able to read these books (there are 81 total in the series!) together for a while. We are both loving them!
- Currently reflecting on 2 Corinthians 4:6-7: “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” I love this. God chose us earthen vessels who are imperfect to shine His perfect light and power into the world 🫶
- It’s porch swing season and nobody is more excited than me! We have a cushion I bought a year or two ago that sits on our wooden porch swing and it is so dirty and beat up. Why? I made the mistake of not buying one that ties onto the swing. Sadie and Niva think it is their personal mission to pull that cushion out into the yard to lay on. So, I got a new one that has ties so it connects to the swing. No more dirty cushion! I hope 😉
Alright! It’s time for me to get my day going! We have a busy one over here: homeschool for Sadie girl, an eye doctor appointment for me, computer coding class for Sadie, and physical therapy for me tonight. I’m tired just thinking about it, lol.
I’m looking forward to Easter this weekend! We will be going to church and Sadie is singing. I can’t wait! It’s always so sweet to see the kids in our church sing up front.

Adorable photos! I love library crafts, one of our favorite day out activities ❤️
Thank you! Isn’t the library just the best?! It’s one of our favorite places!
Dakota in Sadie’s dinosaur onesie is so cute!
Aww, thank you! It’s so fun to see her wear Sadie’s old clothes!
Every pic is so so sweet! I love how close they all are – as dad would say “the 3 amigos”. I love the dino pj’s! You making time out of your busy day to make a meal for a neighbor is so precious – God is smiling down so hard that you’re so kind and thoughtful!
Love you!
